Do you still lose toys or accessories as an adult?

Gah! I managed to lose Generations Thrust recently when I moved out. I can't imagine how it happened. When I left, I turned my old room inside out and my landlord confirms there was nothing I'd forgotten in it. But when I started going through my collection, I noticed I had Thrust's accessories, but Thrust himself was gone. After relentless searching, I resigned myself to the fact that he was lost for good a bought a new one on eBay for £13. Still, it could have been worse. I could have lost Henkei Ratchet or one of FP's Insecticons, then I'd be in a real pickle.

Now I can understand children carelessly losing parts while playing, but how does this sort of thing happen to an adult collector? Have you ever lost a toy or accessory?

Yes. I lose my Sunstreaker's gun. I placed it somewhere on my bed and a second later it's suddenly nowhere to be found.

I lost an MISB Classics Prime when I moved back in 2008. I think threw it out with some empty boxes.

Yep, Generations Warpath has a missing rocket after it got fired when I was walking to put it back into my computer room, just before I turned the lights on. Just touch the side of the wall trying to get the lights on and it just went off.

Ended up moving from that place and even with the room clear, nothing.

I recently lost PE Rosanna... but I suspect that it was lifted by my cousin's little pain in the ass son!

I took it as a sign that I should not buy PE Arcee, as I was going to pair the two together.

One of Tigerhawk's missiles has met oblivion. Thankfully, it's not one of the wingtip missiles.

Not really. I used to lose things quite a lot as a kid because people would steal my shit & because I'd carry them around with me places where they'd fall off, etc, and a few things have gone missing when I moved that I even remember packing. However since then, everything is accounted for either by being attached to the figure or by being in my parts boxes.

I've have a few tackle boxes to prevent this very issue. Just have to make sure to all the new accessories make it in them.

I'm much better at it now than when I was a kid, but I did just recently purchase a Cybertron Leader Megatron from a board member. He packaged everything up neatly, going so far as to place any items that could pop off during transit into a ziploc bag. I received the package, opened it, and not even 5 minutes into owning it, and I lost one of the small tail fins near the missile launcher. I was in my office - a relatively small room, with few places for something to hide - and that little bastard has simply vanished. :banghead:

All or part of "protoform" Starscream's gun (the missile, flame). Actually, I keep misplacing one or more of those three pieces, which turn up again then are re-lost. Starscream's thumb has since snapped off so now I simply don't bother with any of it.

I've also somehow completely misplaced the FAB Starscream I had. He was a stand-in until I got the Voyager, but he was a fun little guy I didn't mind having even after then.

I baggie them right away as soon as they are out of package. Though I need to redo them soon, as I have ALL missiles in 1 baggie, and when trying to make a sale it is a pain trying to match them up.

Missiles get accidentally launched into the stratusphere at my house semi-regularly. I always try to search for them immediately after accidentally hitting a hair trigger..but more often than not, that leads to frustration, a small bit of anger, and me saying "screw it" and going about my day. I usually find them later on either when moving furniture or right after buying a replacement.

I didn't personally lose it, but my daughter lost the top of Bumblebee's wavecrusher.

I was about to say 'no, of course not' until I remembered I've lost an entire little box which contained all the accessories (and a Snake Eyes) of my GI Joe Night attack chopper and all the ROC figures sitting in it. All the Choppers missiles, the figures guns/backpacks/figure stands.

Its a little bit like Rambo 2, where they get airdropped into enemy territory and they lose all their stuff.

    Not happy about that.
