Do you like the new, orchestral theme for the opening credtis of Prime over the classic Transformers theme song?

Yeah, it's really good and fits the opening montage that each episode has had since the beginning of Season1. I'm honestly not a fan of the G1 theme, tbh.

I enjoy the opening. I think it sets the mood for the series rather well.

I'm also a little tired of hearing "More then meets the eye" re-done over and over again. It's nice to have an completely original TF opening for a change.

The music's not bad, it's great, but it's a boring intro. Not to mention it's filled with the uncreative transformation noise of this series and lame as hell "pew pew" laser noises.

In intro should be exciting with a catchy theme to get you ready for the action. Animated had a great theme. Catchy, energic, flashy and got you excited.

I would've prefered they just not have an intro instead of using this one, like in the five part opener.

The original was, is and always will be cheesy enough to give heart attacks to Taco Bell regulars. This opening really fits with the stoic themes that they've been throwing into this show.

It's not bad. it's a part of the visuals that bugs me. I don't like the kids doing epic jumps off of things and into their bots. too unrealistic for an otherwise grounded in realism type of show.

I disagree with a lot here. But mostly I disagree with the idea of a catchy opening. I just don't think "catchy" would be the right opening mood for this series.

...I honestly can't tell if you're being serious or not.

A catchy theme simply means a good song you remember and gets you in the mood from the show. Doesn't have to be upbeat or hyper energetic, just not sleep-inducing. If the current theme is indicative of the show, then TF: Prime should be boring and slow, which it isn't.

As said, I like the song a lot, but it doesn't fit as a theme song. It feels like heroic background music. Not a song you use as a theme song. (of course this may simply be because the sound effects are like three times louder than the music itself)

For example, "Scorponok" from the TF movie score could work as a theme song for this show. It's catchy but fits the mood.

    Neither can I.

yeah, I find it a bit dull. There's no excitement or inventiveness to it. It's just bland and dreary.

But I'm glad they at least did one. A show needs a theme.

I'm not automatically in love with everything G1, but the G1 theme never gets old for me. It wouldn't be a good fit for this show, but it is 100% better than the TFP theme.

G1 Theme wouldn't fit Prime, so I like it better than the G1 one.

It's a bit bland though, specially considering how fucking awesome and better than every other show in history's soundtrack ever the in-show music is.

I indifferently disagree, if it makes you feel better.

    Indeed.

The theme..yep, it's fine, kinda like that they got away from doing the MTMTE again. There's numerous versions of that on each CD from the movies and after TFA it time for a change for this series. :thumb  :dj

As for the scenes in the intro..my favorite part is when Prime and Megs clash arm cannons.. :bay  ... kinda reminds me of the helmet clashes ala Monday Night Football style!! That scene alone makes up for the kids ability to jump into/onto a transforming bot. :)

I don't like it. It's quite a bit generic to me, and it's boring. I'd say the same about the movie "theme" as well. A theme should be instantly recognizable and inseparable with the subject it's the theme for. I'm not saying the music is "bad" (the work is quite nice, actually), but I don't think what we've gotten through the movies and now Prime really works well.

I actually wish there was no intro, I liked what they did during "Darkness Rising".

It's just not energetic enough, as said earlier it just feels and sounds like background music and doesn't represent the scale appropriately.

I'm not saying orchestral music can't be used as a theme, but it js=ust needs to have more oomph to it.

Or just look at Batman TAS for an intro song that sets the tone and is instantly recognizable without being cheesy.

There is one good thing about the intro. And it's getting to see Megatron slowly walking and shooting while everybody is running and shit.

    It's extremely badass in a not-extreme-at-all way.
