    I'm surprised nobody on youtube hasn't put up a comparison between Dr. Claw vs Vocoder Soundwave...

    Vocoder is definitely classic and would have been awesome to hear in the film....but I didn't hate the Dr. Claw voice. It definitely made him sound a little more evil and fit the overall feel of the Decepticons in the film series. I felt the same kinda way about not using Welker as Megs in TF1....would have been cool to hear the original voice, but ended up feeling like Weaving's voice fit the movie Megs better.

    I think the movie Soundwave should have the Dr. Claw voice and G1 Soundwave need the vocoder.

    Same here. Vocoder only. I know it is only wishful thinking, but I hope the Vocoder will be available on the dvd.

    Either. Both are just fine and seem "Soundwave" to me.

    dr claw is WAY better... way more evil, and i think the Vocoder worked in g1, but i do not think it would work today.

    but it's too bad that "dr claw" was for soundwave, and no megatron... that would of been a MUCH better megatron... :lol

    What was the point of getting Welker if they didn't use it?
    Did anyone ask Orci about it before he bailed on us?

    It just seems weird that they did it the way they did.

    The vocoder makes him sound sociopathic and way more evil.

    Vocoder all the way. The voice might have completely worked if the character of Dr. Claw never existed in the first place.

    Vocoded, but only because of the type of Soundwave this is.

    If movieverse Soundwave was a mighty Decepticon warrior/sociopath rather than a communications officer/hacker, then the Dr. Claw voice would fit better.

    Instead we've got a very geewunny Soundwave with a not-very geewunny voice (technically, it's G1, but that's not the point).

    However, that was just his satellite-mode head. Could it be that his robot mode head (with visor and faceplate) has a vocoded voice?

    I think the Vocoded was best, it really made Soundwave for me. (I watched 10 episodes on Youtube)
