spent today making an Excel Sheet(s) of my collection. was going off memory quite a bit, but knew which 1's were broken. if broken but do-able then got an *, however ... if broken but not repairable, then i didnt bother to name. so anyone else do this? if so how do you organise? i did a sheet for each franchise (that i have something from) and with the sheets, i kept count of the overall total and each faction.
By Bots and Cons, and they for the most part are seperated by line. EDIT: Ignore this, I seemed to miss the point
I'm making an access database to track what I have and what weapons they come with. I'm taking the Tfinfo website and pulling all the data from there. So far I have 1984 thru 1990. I'm going to skip a bunch of years because of what I collect but I'm making it easy to add new stuff and their accessories.
I will ocasionally count how many figures I have in my collection and also count how many by each faction like for example: Autobots - 24 and 'Cons - 21. I remember who's weapon is who and who's broken by memory.
I have all of my figures on one Excel spreadsheet in alphabetical order by TF line. Not many, if any, of my TF's are broken, so they are all listed as well as replacement value for insurance purposes. I list their names, subgroup (i.e. Headmaster with the name of the HM), size of toy, faction, if its an exclusive, whether or not it is complete, and value. I still want to go back and list all the parts that go with each figure, but haven't done that yet.
I don't believe in organization. I come in the door, close my eyes and throw whatever's in my hands randomly in every direction. I pay bums to come into my place and rearrange the furniture while I sleep. All of my toys are scattored throughout my place. I don't like shelves because I'm allergic to cubed wood. Some of my toys are duct taped to the walls and ceiling. My wife tapes everything I watch and dubs over it replacing any name mentioned with the random names of office supplies, serial numbers and firearm names. I used to be organized but i've stopped all that now.
I have an Excel checklist made for Classiverse, G1, Alternators/Masterpiece, and a hodgepodge of G2, RID, A/E/C, and Robot Masters where I select only the molds that I like. I have Autobots with red font, Decepticons in purple, blank cells for missing mass releases, green background for missing exclusives/customs, and yellow background for haves.
By faction and continuity. Example 10 Classics Cons (left) & 11 Classics Bots (right). A mix of both in the middle.
I have an Excel spreadsheet as well. It's all one sheet with several different categories: Name, Series, Year released, Condition, Description of condtion (whether it's missing parts, paint scratches, QC control issues, etc.), whether or not I gave it a rename, where I purchased it, the year I purchased it and whether or not I've taken pictures of it for my photo archive. It's alot of fun for me to maintain.
oh yeah i did that too! i mostly have bots. maximals and preds too. shmax? whats it do? i did alot by memeory as well. i was sad that i did have 300. also had 3 gobots who ... i didnt even remember having yet cant find scooter or leader 1 ....
shmax basically you can click add to my collection anything and remove accessories etc you're missing from each figure
Excel spreadsheet with G1 only. All Series of toys on a different tab. I list the toy, box, weapons, partner, accesories etc
