i usually just use the picture on the box for how its supposed to look. However if the toy is quite complicated like an alt ill have to check the instructions for fear of breakage.

No, I haven't use them since the BW combiners came out. I find them rather easy to figure out only takes a few minutes beside MP Megs, which took me 45mins to figure out.

Typically I'll glance at them for a second but mostly figgure it out on my own. The larger more complex toys I look at more closely since I don't want to break anything. Masterpieces I follow every square of the instructions, even if I do have a basic idea of what's next. After dropping $100+ on a toy I don't want to take any chances.

Depends. MPs and Leaders, yeah I need the instructions the first few times. Deluxes and Voyagers, I can usually transform them without ever looking at the instructions.

    Usually not.

I keep 'em on-hand the first time just in case something doesn't look right so I can double check.

    After that they're gone.

I shudder to think how much of my mental real estate is taken up by transformations...

Only for about 5% of the toys, and only the first time. I am particularly proud of myself for figuring out MP-05 on my own without breaking anything.

Only for the larger, more complex transformers like masterpice and alternators. After a few times I'm usually good with those figures.

Only for BT/ALTs and MP Starscream, because I didn't want to chance breaking them.

    Instructions is fer sissies.

...like me, but only after all attempts to do it on my own are exhausted. I've had to reference instructions for some of the Alts, Unicron, and I got so frustrated trying to get BW Optimal Optimus back into his bot mode after my roommate tried transforming him that I put him in a box 5 years ago and haven't gotten it out again since. Ditto for Transmetal 2 Megatron trying to get him back into dragon mode.

But it's rare that I ever use the instructions at all unless I fear I'm going to break something. The whole fun of Transformers is the process of transforming them and trying to figure it out for yourself.

I look at them when I start off for the first time, but after a couple steps I try all on my own. Sometimes I wreck the transformation and I panic and try to get it back, but I figure it out.

I don't believe anybody can transform Omega Prime properly without some kind of help. Rid Landfill/Target Devastator is a real bitch. Big Convoy is another one everybody complains about. Sometimes I need instructions,it depends on the figure.

This same thread always pops up.:lol
