Should they have arms and legs then? Or heads even? Maybe they should be like, box shaped hovering robots with no limbs except generic robotic servos. My point is, Transformers are essentially humanoid in robot form, none more so (traditionally) than Optimus Prime. So I don't have a problem with him having an abdominal region that vaguely resembles ab muscles, as he has since his very inception.

I know it's just the toy, but he will have those abs in the movie.

Perfectly put. There are SO many utterly unnecessary design touches on Transformers that to single out one in particular is rather silly when one thinks about it.

I don't mind too much. The movies really do help push the idea that they're beings, that have complex body systems, rather than just robots.

They can look humanoid OBVIOUSLY, but abs are kinda weird looking on a robot. It's like they lift weights to grow muscles. That's not very robot-like. The idea could grow on me though.

Before it was like a v-twin shaped ribcage with ab-like linearity. It's a bit more pronounced, but given what's been said, does it really even make a toss?

Well he earned then from wooing some ass in ROTF! Lol
I don't care. I'm sure it's not what I'll be looking at with all the action going on. Plus don't forget some transformers also have facial hair.
