I'm watching it right now & it's not bad. I just think the fanboys inside us have unrealistic expectations about this shit. Speaking of which, it's to bad Sam didn't get a chance to go all the way with Alice.
Yes. Although I could have done without Leo and his idiocy and some of the scenes with Sams mother were just totally unnecessary and had nothing to do with anything.
if you can write a blockbuster script in a few days then bravo to you and i hope you will know what to put in TF4
The script itself was decidedly NOT blockbuster. Don't even try that. The audience busted the block strictly for the sfx, we all know it.
I have it as 39, but yeah it was on Space. I missed the one last night, so I woke up extra early to catch the repeat. ... and yeah 8:45 on a saturday when I don't really have to work up is early hah.
maybe everyone else (mainly critics) thought it as meant to be a blockbuster heck i bet they didnt know it took days to write the script (sorry for saying tht again)
It's a frustrating one, but it frustrates me for different reasons to what are usually brought up. I don't like the "Autobots, GTFO!" sub-plot, it served very little purpose other than to add forced tension, and it isn't even resolved properly, they just drop it after John Benjamin Hickey is thrown off the plane. I also don't like how they introduce SO DAMN MANY new Transformers, but don't do anything with them. Many of the newcomers served no purpose other than to flaunt CGI effects or to promote a car. I probably would have enjoyed the newcomers more if they didn't introduce so many. You could easily take out Jolt, Reedman, Grindor, Sideways, the Appliances and that army of Protoforms and it wouldn't have made much difference to the plot. I would've loved a scene where Ironhide, Arcee, Ratchet and Sideswipe grieve for Optimus and have an "Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?" discussion, or a scene where The Fallen leads The Constructicons on a rampage (no pun intended), through a city. But despite my frustration, I can't really bring myself to truly, honestly DESPISE Revenge of the Fallen. There is good stuff mixed in there, like Soundwave, Jetfire, Ravage and Devastator; it's just very, very, ridiculously easy to overlook them. I give it a C- for effort.
It had the best scene in the trilogy: Optimus smacking the Decepticons all by himself. Him dying at the end of that was stupid though. Bay giveth and Bay taketh away.
Well, guess who's fault that is? Michael Bay. If he had pushed production back and waited until the Writers Strike was over, then the script, and the final product, wouldn't have been as bad.
I think ROTF was a decent film and about equal to DOTM. Especially as I find DOTM to be incredibly overrated. I'd go into more detail but I was halfway through doing so, a moment ago, when I accidentally discovered a keyboard shortcut. One that changes the page.
Yes, the way they had Megatron kill Optimus Prime was awesome. Optimus Prime: *gets stabed* Noooooo! Megatron: Your so weak! *shoots* Optimus Prime: *gets shot and falls* Sam..run.ru- *dies* Best killing scene in the movie. I also loved how they potrayed The Fallen as head honcho. I don't think Megatron feared him, more like respected him but that is jut my opinion. The way the characters were potrayed was great, but there is one character who drove me crazy: Sam. Sam didn't listen to Optimus Prime's warnings till Optimus Prime had to come to his rescue and get killed in the process. I hope that for the fourth movie, that Sam is a minor character.
