This is so true. We need to see his off moments. If he isn't fighting, he's preaching, or typing. Fight, preach, type. Preach, fight, type. Fight, preach, fight.

Are there other options? It would be nice him doing something besides those three.

Well Optimus, the sneaky devil...if you go back to the 'Legacy' episode and watch the part where Megatron does that face, you can see Optimus wink at him while looking up into the Nemesis' monitor, just before hitting the ship with that energy pulse!

Heh, Prime being cocky on the sly, who'd have thought!

Is it bad that I consider it the highlight of the ep next to Ratchet's xenophobia and Megatron's face?  

I don't think he's that bad all the time, but it is nice to see a glimmer of personality behind that stoic wall for once.

 

Did not notice the wink, Optimus you Sly Dog.

 

Maybe not always but more of such moments would be truly great.

 

Perhaps his stoicness is a facade even though that would make no sense.

Lol guess under all that monotone prime has humor to him. Guess he found it funny that with one swipe from his sword he could end a war in 1 sec. that's been happening for millions of years lol. I'd wink to.

 

Pretty much the Optimus that they were trying to have in the movies, but done better. Wise, stoic, a good fighter, but not blood thirsty. Compassionate, but no real emotional range that G1 had.

Still not my favorite Optimus: Animated

 

yeeeeah, not sure why so many people think he's boring as hell, either! ok yes I'll admit he could show a little more emotion, but fuck he's not completely devoid. He smiles, albeit rarely, but I think that his lack of showing emotion just makes the "Happimus Prime" moments kinda...special? (cheesy, I know.)

And yeah just now in Legacy, he effing WINKS at Megatron after spliting a mountain in half. Yes, how boring of him to do so!

I'll also admit my only other problem with TFP Optimus is, as mentioned, the lack of discipline he seems to give the Autobots. Legacy is really the first time we've seen him chew someone out publicly. I mean we can all assume he reprimands them 'behind-the-scenes,' in which case the writers just need to show us these things.
