    ....
    What story?!?!

Nothing happened yet. There's no story, this is essentially a pin-up piece of Decepticons vs Army stretched out over six issues.

After 6 issues I would like to see something happen as well.

Originally I voted "jury is still out" but with each issue I go more and more toward saying "no". After 6 issues, something really should have happened by now. Instead it feels like we should still be on issue 1 or 2.

Yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion I've come to. I can absorb wasting $4 a month for a few more months just to not be out of the loop when this shit is concluded.

Oh yeah... my answer has changed slightly from my previously posted:

To simply a solid, emphatic "NO!"

Yeah, this is the only reason I read this garbage, to be aware of whatever plot points may be revisited.

Sadly, all signs seem to point to McCarthy being kept on board as IDW's main G1 writer. Dammit, IDW!
    This.
I've been told "If you ignore what Furman did before this is pretty good". It isn't. By a long shot. The first two issues of Dreamwave's Prime Directive miniseries were more exciting than AHM's first six. And that's taking into factor the Pat Lee art!

If you guys really hate it, then send a message to IDW by simply not buying. Keep up with the story by reading a review synopsis or such from a website or the TF wiki.

Just read the latest issue, im dropping it now, I was intrigued by the dissention in the decpeticons, but with nothing resembling anything of progression in the plot is just too much to avoid.

Missing the story isn't the issue. I love the art too much to drop the title.

I'm firmly of the opinion that the only good thing about this comic is Kup; this is how I always envisaged him being; I can even imagine him being voiced by R Lee Ermey.
Unfortunately there honestly isn't anything else about the story or writing that I enjoy apart from that. The art's superb, but the writing is awful.
And the thought of McCarthy becoming IDW's main G1 writer is a frankly horrible one.

Just finished issue 6, it's been a slow build but its getting better. I thought last issues interaction between Springer and Jazz was good but Track's reaction to Perceptor in issue 6 is awesome!

I am having fun seeing all the Decepticon friction within the unit. There are more internal conflicts than Megatron vs. Starscream and it's a lot of fun. Bombshell's the prick he used to be, and Skywarp is still the backshooting sneak. I missed that.

I dunno man, seems to me like saying "I don't want to read this story, I just want to find out what happens in it" is tantamount to saying, "I want to read this story" to me.

::gasp:: That's like STEALING MUSIC!!! ...Except these guys actually need, and I think deserve, the money they're charging for their product. ESPECIALLY if someone WANTS to find out what happens in their stories.

That's a massive overstatement. I'd say it's more like someone telling you the lyrics to a song, so you don't have to listen to it yourself.
And IMO they'd deserve my money a shitload more if it was a decently done story in the first place.

My suggestion was to go read somebody else's run-down of the comic's storyline. Even Draven's analogue of somebody telling you the lyrics to the song isn't entirely accurate, because a synopsis or run-down of a comic is not even a word-for-word copy of the text and actions of the book. If somebody else wants to read/buy it because they enjoy, then that's fine.

I just don't understand the rationale that you need to pay money for something you're not enjoying just to stay up to date, and then complain about the money you're wasting on it because you don't like it.

I don't know why everyone is saying this series has such good characterisation, it basically equates to each character more or less stating who they are:

Ironhide:A'hm an angry and suspicious Autobot! I like to start fights and punch people for no good reason!

Prowl:I'm a bumbling leader-type who is unable to keep everyone in line because I have terrible leader skills!

Jazz:I'm a badass with a dark secret and a big ego.

Kup:I'm a tough old cynical soldier who likes to point other people's military flaws.

    Drift:I'm Shane McCarthy!

    They're all cartoony, tacky characters.

Well SURPRISE. Guess what was the key to the G1 cartoon's success.
