How do you display your transformer collection? With the their spring launched missiles loaded and ready to fire, or without?

I leave my missiles halfway down the barrel (not clicked in), because I'm worried that in the long term, the constant tension would be bad for the springs. In fact for any of my TFs with spring loaded gimmicks, I display them such that the spring is untensioned.

Anyone had any problems with the springs after a long period of time?

Keeping the spring under tension won't be bad for it. Might be bad for the plastic the spring is pushing against, I guess.

I leave missiles in, and am beginning to remove the springs and glue the missiles in. I hate launching missiles.

depending on how it looks i might leave them in or take them out.for instance, and im not entirely sure what my logic is on this,i display animated starscream without missles and animated blitzwing with missles.

ive got a plastic box i keep undisplayed transformer pieces in like that.

Right now it's with, unless there's one that's really troublesome.
This is mainly because I have yet to set up a communal receptacle for them.

Only if it's supposed to represent an actual missile (jets). If it's supposed to represent a plasma blast or something, I leave it out so the gun barrel is empty.

The only toys where the spring tension worries me are Attacktix.

Same here. I'm not fond of missiles designed to look like fire or smoke or ice etc...

I generally leave mine in, as most are pointing towards the shelf or ground.

I've only ever had one mis-hap in that my Energon Jetfire's gun broke. When I opened it up the latch at the end of the leaver, which holds the missile in, had snapped off.

At first i put all my missiles and projectiles in a container so i didn't lose them. Then I realized that they are only toys so now except for movie thundercracker and starscream i leave them in.

Are those all american transformers? I like my diaclone missile launchers. they can launch a 1" missile, literally, across the room. my Battle Convoy roller launcher launches like 3-4 feet.

I like launchers that WORK. not this impotent crap that we get today. I want EYE POKING ACTION!!!!!!

Missiles in. So I don't lose them. or get them confused as to which figure has what missiles.

Like Solscud007, I love launchers that really have some umph. You ever heard of the tinfoil test? They used to (may still) try to shoot missiles through X number sheets of tinfoil during safety testing. If it shot too far the company had to back down the tension. I always think about that when I have a missile that takes off across the room. "Damn, I don't think that would have passed!" :lol

And... also, once in a while, I've had missiles shoot me at the back of my head.

It depends on the missle and how it looks with the gun. for instance, I leave Cybertron Voyager Starcream's (and Dirge's) missile in the gun because it looks better doing so. On teh other hand, I have Classics Hot Rod posed without the missile in, because it looks awkward.

I often go without even trying missiles at all. I load them only when then improve the overall look of the figure.

I almost always leave the missiles in. The only cases I don't are where I feel that the missiles weakens the overall appearance of the toy. A few of my current unarmed toys include Animated Blitzwing and Classics Galvatron.

depends on if I like the look with the missile ie I hate Classics Galvatrons missile so I leave it out but I think Animated Blitzwings missiles make him look better

For me, it all depends on the look of the figure when it's displayed, or if the missiles could be easily lost. I have a part container that I keep all the non-displayed part in, with dividers separating them by character/group.

about 99%of my missiles are stored in a small tackle box. only a small percentage are clicking into the launchers. Things like my Seeker Reissues, Classics Grimmy, G1 Soundwave ave their launchers armed.
