I am really into the Prime line and want to get two of each figure to display in both modes but im sure after awhile it will A) take up a lot of space and B) start to cost a lot.

Do many of you buy more than one of each figure to display in vehicle and robot mode?

Just curious how most people collect

No. I'd rather not spend more money for the same toy.

    No worries, I got you.

For me, no, I only buy the one. More money to spend on getting different characters rather than the same ones, and I like to think leaving one behind means some little kid can pick it up and get the fun out of them.

Haven't considered it, and I haven't done it. I do and would however buy different versions of a character.

No, I just transform my toys to see the other mode.

    I do just that.

I'll be taking pics of my Prime collection (so far) and will put them in the Collection Showcase (in case you want to see how it looks). Expect that to be done in a couple of hours.

It does add up (cost wise) rather quickly. Just getting two each of the Megatron/Optimus Prime Powerizers is almost 100 bucks alone. 0_0 I doubt that I will be getting the more expensive FE figures though, since two of each is very expensive.

This. I have bills and a newborn. Space is limited, plus, I'd rather just get varied figures rather than two of the same. (FE Arcee/NYCC Arcee notwithstanding)

I've started trying the idea of having a bot mode shelf and vehicle mode shelf. Right now my bot mode shelf is the FE figs (except Whelljack), while the vehicle mode shelf is RID (including Wheeljack). Arcee's bike mode however is the Legion one for obvious reasons and I'm waiting for RID Bulkhead as well.

I believe the key gimmick of the Transformers is transformation. If i have two to display in each mode, i wouldn't need to transform them. Then they might be as well as statues.

I don't have the cash for that. If I'm bothered to I alternate between modes every once in a while.

Only time I end up with doubles is if it comes in an eBay lot then I just resale or give to a young family member.

I do, but selectively on ones with an alt mode that's too good to NOT display. Here are some:

    - Armada Unicron
    - Cybertron Primus
    - FP Protector
    - BM Night Slash Cheetor
    - RID Scourge
    - G1 Megatron
    - BW Tripredacus Agent

And here are the ones with so complicated a transformation you'd never WANT to transform them again:

    - most Alternators
    - most HAs

So yes, I do collect doubles, and it's nice displaying both at the same time -- to visually see how one mode goes into the next. It's rather neat -- expensive -- but neat.

I don't. Doesn't have to do with money though. I buy them for the robots. If I wanted cars and such, I would just get models.

Mostly for DOTM Cyberverse and select PCC figures because I find them neat to bash around with, they're cheap and affordable, and I dig how cohesive/economical they are for mass display purposes. Other than that, I only get repaints and redecos of the same mold if they're meant to represent different characters (the Seekers, etc.). The only exceptions being Deluxe Barriacade and Starscream since I like the characters so much and enjoy customs of the base mold.

I don't usually buy duplicates, unless it's for troop building, like the black Sector 7 SUVs and the green Army buggies (I'm bad with names) from the 07 movie. Also the Dread SUVs from DOTM.

The only fig I've bought 2 of with the intent of displaying in each mode is HA Leadfoot. Juan Montoya car is my favorite driver- Johnny Montoya from WAY down South!!
