I had all the prime figs but after playing with them i just saw animated all over again and i lost the admiration for them. Yes the trnsformations and story is wwaayyy better but the faces don't warm me up like a gen or g1 fig.

    How do you see it???

Considering I really enjoy Animated, both on the fiction side and the toy side?

    Yes. Except better.

It's very much the same vein as far as toys, but most of the characters leave me cold. I don't feel the happiness of just looking at them on the shelf like Animated. I don't look at, say, Bumblebee and recall any funny or memorable moments with the character like I do Animated.

Still fantastic toys, but I wish I was more connected to them.

I didn't follow either cartoon, but these do seem similar, for me these are more a mix of Animated and Movie design. I started down the path only because I don't want to be playing catch-up if I decide I want them later. Personal taste, they are probably some of my least favorite designs since I got back into collecting about 5 years ago (right above PCCs and HA Basics), but I took a flyer on these anyway. But I too enjoy the more "human look" of G1 figures.

No. I actually liked Animated. I just don't care for Prime toys like Animated. With Animated, I bought because of character. Now I buy because of the toy being cool. Big difference.

Animated Was fun. But their ablility to plug character homages into its universe as background roles; Lead a lot of fans to expect a thousand characters to be made into actual physical toys.

Prime has a smaller cast, and only seems to add characters with the full intention of making toys of them.

Animated had a small cast to start with at first, and they were really marketed to cartoon network and retailers from the perspective of the first season. An Autobot repair unit gets stranded on earth, they become a rescue team that keeps detroit safe from criminal humans and the occasional decepticon threat. Only later did we discover the deeper galactic plot lines that made Ratchet the caretaker of Omega Supreme. Or the double agent in Longarm Prime. This show outgrew its premise because the writing was that good.

And eventually it became the only line where the Autobot toys were outnumbered by decepticons. It holds a special place in my spark.

Prime has a dark epic feel from the first episodes that never stops. Deactivation is a grim reality in this series that the Autobots face daily. And there seems to be so few Cybertronians left alive. The great war has all come down to this battle for Earth. The decepticons have a few advantages with their vehicon army and the warship. But even they are desperate to collect earths resources to maintain their power and domination.

I like prime better because of how both sides contain hardened soldiers in the fray of battle that have felt the scars of war over centuries. Animated can't touch that.

No. Animated was show accurate and didn't have stupid gimmicks that made no sense. All gimmicks in animated had a point.

Not an Animated cartoon fan, but some of the toys like Jetwing Prime and Blitzwing/ Blackout were awesome for me.

Animated had a group of characters that didn't always win the day, there were stalemates, and it wasn't five versus a bunch of blanks. Prime is all about too many nameless drones getting their butts kicked, and three whiny meatbags. And I can at least still buy Animated toys that look like their characters without glowy limbs.

Even though the toys aren't as accurate as Animated's were, they are still just as fun and still crazy accurate regardless. Plus, imo, the show is better and the designs are superb, maybe even passing some of DJW's, as amazing as they are. SOME. Animated Rodimus will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Immediately I recall Thrill of the Hunt where he comes out of an auto supply store showing off all the useless crap he bought when Ratchet smacks him in the head. Always makes me chuckle. And that's just what pops into my head.

    For me...
Animated: great enjoyable show, no interest in the toys

Prime: great character designs, toys look great, show is mediocre

So... sort of, but in converse?

Okay, that was funny, but my head categorizes that as a Ratchet moment.

TFA Bee is about the only part of the show that got old for me, that's all.
