like the title says. the backs of hasbros boxes can be pretty bland and boring sometimes. do you think that they should put a little more creativity on the backs like takara?

Meh, I just take the toy out and trash the box. I really don't care too much what's on it.

i like hasbro's more uniform look. takara's looks cluttered and flashy.

It's the toy that matters, the box mean nothing to me.

Eh I normally don't really care about the box. Sometimes I wish the MPs had better ones maybe more geared towards collecting.

The weapon names are sometimes amusing on Hasbro packaging.

For example, TFP Voyager Megs has a MIGHTY SWORD!

No cause I usually throw them out.

The Canadian bios for the Generations toys suck though.

Because I throw away the boxes, it doesn't really bother me how the boxes look.

I do not care about the boxes. The boxes serve no purpose once I've bought the toy. I don't look at them after that, because -- gasp -- I open them and take the toys out.

That said, I do like the original G1 packaging. They had some nice design going on and I loved the painted art.

Hasbro's packaging is so boring and ugly that collecting misb has become redundant. Just rip it open and throw it away. And to think i used to collect MOC/MISB.

I have every single box cause there either MISB or MIB. I will never throw them away because I like to look at the packaging, there's something about it that makes me feel so happy. Only donwnside is it takes up space but that's my problem. Anyway, Hasbro packaging definitely is far inferior to Takara/Tomy's imo, just look at the Masterpiece line.

I bet Japanese message boards have the same type of thread only reversed and they like US/'rest of the world' packaging better.

    Probably :p .

Hasbro's consistently got the best packaging design in the entire toy aisle, IMO. It does what it's supposed to, and it does it well.

You know what I miss? Tech Specs. They made the boxes a lot more interesting. Would be nice if we got card backing that detailed robot schematics (like what current boxes seem to lean on) and included a tech spec at the bottom with character background and the usual power/strength/intelligence etc etc meters. I don't know about a lot of people, but back then, when the G1 show stopped, I loved that I could still get information about the TFs and their universe just by reading the card backs. We got a quick overall background recap in some cases (like Action Masters - Prime went into a black hole to find Nucleon) and of course tech specs at the back.

I think a lot of people throw the packaging away BECAUSE its so crap.

Personally I'd welcome a return to single language boxes, with more space for interesting things, artwork, techspecs, bios that kind of thing.

United packaging bugs me more than just about any other packaging ever used.

I think it's the combination of lack character artwork on the front, and heavy use of Prime and Megatron's faces everywhere.

Oh look it's SOOOO G1 Takara! I'll gladly pay more for it.

Movie packaging has generally been pretty drab too, but for some reason it doesn't bother me as much....Perhaps because the movie-verse is subject to a steady flow of criticism.
