I don't think so, Hasbro could come to an end, but the collectors and fans will never be, we can come up to something new or something will satisfy us collectors.

Hardly [even more so after the live-action movies, that served as an insane boost of money and fame to the Transformers Brand].

I say that at least for at least some good fifty years, Transformers Brand will live.

This billion dollar franchise has as much chance of ending as every other billion dollar franchise.

We're about 15 years past Transformers just being about Toys, and some manager at Hasbro being able to pull the plug at the first sign of a down turn. Now Hasbro is all about the "Transformers IP"... the characters, the universe and all the dollars that come with it. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if War for Cybertron and Transformers Prime are bringing in more money than actual Transformers toys.

And on top of that Hasbro just started the HUB specifically to capitalize on its IP.

So no. Zero chance. But this also means that its billion-dollar franchises will be better taken care of than say, out sourcing it to Japan to return dubs of crappy animated series a la the Unicron Trilogy.

So it's really win-win for everyone. Hasbro makes more money, we get better products.

I think Transformers could die if there is a series of blunders and market miscalculations, G2 was almost the end.

From the smallest microbe to the largest galaxies, everything has an end. I doubt Transformers will disappear in my lifetime though. I look forward to knocking kids out of the way so I can get to the shelves when I'm 80.

Transformers will live on forever. Oh yeah, they will undergo many updates and changes but the franchise will go on.

You mean like Star Trek has? Possible. Heck, I'd even say likely.

At this point I dont see it happening now. Even if Hasbro would go down, we still have the 3rd party companies that could replace them. Now the only problem I do see is them running out of ideas. They can only do the bots and cons for so long until it just gets old and stale. I do hope we get something fresh again like Beast Wars was to keep the series from getting stale with too many bot and con series.

It'll amost ended in 1990, thankfully Takara and Europe still had it going enough for Hasbro to consider G2.

Well, maybe not now. Although I believe all good things must come to an end. however hasbro's formula seems : make a toyline-target audience (kids) outgrows it-make new toyline for kids. meaning if hasbro does stuff right TF may never end.

I doubt it. It's evolved beyond a mere toy line to a multi-million dollar brand. As long as people will still spend $$ on it, it's not going away

Of course it is possible. If the rightsholders and producers go bankrupt and no one being interested in the intellectual property anymore, Transformers might be gone.

Of course! One misstep, and the Transformers brand will be ruined FOREVER!
