Question is, do you collect video game systems like you do Transformers?

I used too...but while planning the layout of my game room in my house that is being built I came to the conclusion that some of the systems just sit there...never played b/c I had so many different systems and games. I used to dream of owning every home console system and at one point came very close to achieving that...but every so often reality would open my eyes and I'd realize that only a few of the systems would ever receive actual use.

That said, as soon as I'm in my new house and can unpack everything I'll be letting go of some great systems...some that I may one day look back and regret the decision...even though I know I never played them. I used to be really big on the import game scene and since most of those items are collectible & hard to find I'm hoping that those items will bring in enough $$ to cover my cost of the 360 Elite I bought on Sunday. This isn't a sale thread, but I will be letting my boxed Japanese PC Engine Duo w/ Dracula X go, as well as my Sega Genesis CDX system, Datel Pro-CDX cartridge (for import Mega CD games) and a slew of games for both systems. I also think that it's time for the Atari 7800 to go. I love retro, but with emulation discs for my Dreamcast and all of the compliation collections now available for current systems...it's expendable.

So, what systems do you own/collect that you never play?

I thought I did for a while... I had a Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, NES, SNES, Dreamcast, and a mix of game boys...

Only my ps2 has seen through... and I'm on my second one! :)

I had planned on starting but didn't. I do have some things I do not play, my Virtual Boy, Game Gear, NGPC, Gameboy Color, Genesis, NES, Super NES, N64, 2600.

I had planned on getting a Saturn, but I wanted a white one and they are a little more pricey, and whenever it came down to it I could never bring myself to buy it...Along with the Sega CD and TG16.

My old college roommate collected systems too, but he actually played them all.

I originnally wanted to but I realised that I will never have the time to play all these wonderful games so I gave up the idea...all I have is the PS2 for now but I'm tempted by the 360 and PS3...

Not so much collect at my house, as accumulate. But between me, my dad and sister, here we go:
Atari 7800, Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, Gameboy, Gamecube, GBA, DS, PSP, SuperNES, PS1, PS2, XBox, Wii.

Let's see... I've got Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Virtual Boy, Genesis, Dreamcast, Game Gear, Gamecube, Playstation, Playstation 2, and one of those old Sears Pong machines from the 70s.

...I would own a Wii by now but it would be easier to find a horny panda around here than one Wii.

I've got a NES, SNES, Gameboy (somewhere...), GBA, 2 PS1s (1 is broken and is a doorstop), Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, DS, and a Colecovision stashed away in some box. I just keep my old consoles, I don't go looking for them.

^Same here, I don't go out looking for old consoles, I just don't get rid of my old ones. In roughly the order I bought them, I think I have...

    Spectrum 48K
    NES
    Saturn (Japanese White)
    Playstation
    Gameboy Colour
    Dreamcast
Neo Geo Pocket Colour (for my other half)
    Gameboy Advance
    Xbox
    Gamecube
    Playstation 2
    N-gage
    N-gage QD
    DS Lite
    Xbox 360

Along with all the games and peripherals... and thats where things go wrong. I have a LOAD of peripherals that are only really used for one game, and thats kinda stupid. What bugs me now is I tried Virtua Cop on my new LCD tv, and the light guns don't work with it!

Kicking around I've got 5 light guns, (Saturn x2, DC x1, PS2 x2) two steering wheels (Saturn x 1, PS/PS2 x1) DC arcade stick. Now that I've listed it, it doesn't seem too bad.

    I don't collect video games systems, but I do collect Amigas; I have a 500, a 500+, 600, a 1200, and a 4000/060.
Console wise, I only have a Playstation (Mk1, with the separate audio outs on the back), a Dreamcast, a Gamecube, an Xbox 360, and a DS.

Well at my house between myself, Bandron and Raudoc we have the following:

    5x NES
    1x SNES
    2x N64
    2x Gamecube+
    1x Pokemon Edition Gameboy Pocket
    1x Gameboy Pocket
    2x Purple GB Color
    2x Gameboy Advance
    3X Gameboy Advance SP
    1x TurboExpress
    1x Turbografx 16
    1x Turbografx 16 CD system
    1x Turbo Duo
    1x Sega Genesis
    1x Sega Dreamcast
    1x Playstation 1 (Original version)
    1x Playstation 2 (Original Version)
    2x Playstaion 2 (Slimline Version)
    1 x Neo Geo

Approximately 400+ games between the various systems including some of the harder to find rare ones like Dracula X for the Japanese TurboDuo.

So if my horrible math skills are correct we have 30 old systems in our house and most of them are connected and functional except for the duplicates.

I've still got my Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast, but that's more because nobody else wants them than for their collectability.

Still, I still play both Sega systems, especially VIRTUA COP on the Saturn. The Jaguar, now that was crap. Can't imagine why I bought it!:dunce

What do you think would be a fair asking price for a complete NEC PC Engine Duo 2.0 w/ original box & manuel + a nice CD-R copy of Dracula X, complete w/ case & artwork?

I tend to sell off systems once I am done with them. That being the case, in my home right now among 3 people are 2x DS Lites, 1 DS (older), and 1 360. We do plan on owning a Wii eventually as well.

Over time, however, I have owned NES, SNES, 2x N64, NGC, 2x PS, PS2, Xbox, GBC, 2x GBA, 2x GBA SP, Dreamcast, and an Atari 2600.

I am not worthy compared to some of you.

All I own are a NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy, and PS2. I sold my Atari 2600 on EBAY for parts, because it did not work.
