How dedicated are you in collecting tf toys
I mysel havent really been caring about figures much recently and have been spending all my money on IDW g1 comics
Um, shouldn't this be here:Transformers Toy Discussion - TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards
Me too, sorta. I have gotten obsessed with the IDW comics lately, too. I am loving the "spotlight" series a lot.
I had no idea how to answer your poll, I buy toys but I generally stick to G1 characters/versions. I mostly buy ones I like the look of, but will buy others just because I feel like it should be a part of my collection. I don't just buy characters I like, but characters from the G1 series....regardless of how I personally percieved them. Affordability is a big determinant to what I buy and when I buy it, more than any other factor, really.
Ive been trying to catch up. Ive got all of furmans mini-series (bar Maximum Dinobots and Revalation (the latter i have mail ordered)) But ive also skipped a head to All Hail Megatron (loved it) AND ongoing volume 1 (deserves more credit than it gets). I think my love for the IDW-verse is slowly outgrowing my love for animated
I went from completist aka 'gotta have all to' - 'get the figures I like'
Used to be I bought everything I saw. These days I can't really afford to dedicate as much cash to TF so it's more a situational thing of if it's something I really want and if I've got the spare coin available at the time.
One of each mold for me.
When I got back into collecting, I was buying almost every toy. Now it's just characters I like.
Just the figures I like, primarily G1 / G2 and Classics, but I have no real wish to complete any line.
I only get the figures I like the look of. And unfortunately, sometimes the characters I want to get to complete a cast only get PoC figures.
I put "try to get as many as possible" with the caveat that they are in the lines I collect, which is classics (all of em, except hailstorm, he sucks) and on-screen movie toys (biggest/best version possible) and I've been trading off my other lines towards completing them. although I'm missing a couple of bigs so my "collecting" of those lines have slowed since I'm missing guys like ramjet, skywarp, magnus and ratchet.
I try to get as few as I can. I would not have the space for all the toys I would like. But I care for the characters and the look of them. My main interest are characters from G1.
Get the first I like the look of.
As much as I'd like to say I only buy the figures I like, I tend to buy as many figures as possible. I'm in no way a completionist, but I really like to give every TF line a shot. It's hard for me to judge how much I'll like a figure from reviews or other's pictures, so I buy a variety of figures. I wasn't going to into the DOTM Cyberverse line, but I bought one and continued from there.
I'm usually a completist (but I still refuses to buy ALL the bumblebees).
Can't collect everything. Not enough room. I've been selling more than buying lately.
The question shouldn't be "how dedicated" we are to transformers toy. That's a positive connotation on ones that collect absolutely everything.
This is simply not true, because people who collect only certain lines can have just as much if not more passion and dedication to TF's as those who collect everything.
I voted I try to get as many as possible but the truth is I but ON Screen show characters of American released series. This will soon be changing to ON SCREEN show characters from a North American produced animated series. AKA I am trimming down my Movie and AEC figures.
Only what I like. It's quality over quantity at this point
