I know its a weird way to topic this, but I have been wondering if anyone out there is like me. Do you buy into technology? do you have to have high tech? can you honestly say that you can connect with people in so many ways you can count them on at least one hand? I am amazed that i personally have so many way at my home. I was looking around and realized that I can connect online or via voice (Phone or Cell) in 8 diffrent ways.

    Wii
    PSP
    Q9M Smart Phone (my phone)
2x Razr Phone (Mom and Girlfriends)
3x PC's (though one is down and in pieces)
    VoiP Phone service
    All 3 Cell's have internet
    We have Highspeed Cable internet

And this dont include my access here at work. I mean Its such a big part of my life. And yet im never satisfied. I always seek the bigger badder thing. Are any of you out here like this?

    Yeah, to an extent.

Have a cell phone (which doesn't have service at the moment), a DS, a Wii, a 360, a couple PCs, various game consoles from different generations (ranging from the Gen/SNES era to current gen, though I had an Intellivision at one point), HDtv, DVR/satellite, etc.

    I like my tech.

Lets see, in our house we have:

    High Speed internet
    2 PCs
    2 Nintendo DS's
    A Wii
    2 Blackberry 8703s
another cellphone (some kind of Nokia)

and as far as other tech, 3 SD televisions, 1 HDTV, 2 DVD players, one of those newfangled microwaves that toasts stuff too, an MP3 player, a synthesizer and a guitar amp modeler.

...so yeah, you could say we are into technology, and with 4 sons, it's only going to get worse as time goes on, as I type this I am looking for good prices online for an i-Pod nano for my oldest son...

Ive bought in into video stuff such as movie formats, HD, and consoles, but I have not bought in into audio stuff. For example, to this day I refuse to buy an Ipod or Mp3, dont like burning CDs (prefer actual album).

I love technology, but not as much as you, you see... But I STILL love technology... Always and forever.

Seriously, I got some kind of tech in every room in the house and I never go anywhere without my Ipod.

Let me know how satisfied you are with the result.
When I was at CES no one had a machine that was running it right.

Not Dell, not Alienware, no one.

    Really?

I have no problems running it, my friend can play it with rather high settings with no problem.

rather high, or with everything cranked up all the way?

And come on, who doesn't buy technology? If you're a luddite, you wouldn't even be on this forum :p

I buy what I need, but I aggressively keep things at a minimum.

Cell phone is a cell phone. No camera, no text, no Bluetooth headset...just phone calls.

Laptop is similarly basic. I use the internets and MS Office. That's about it--don't even download music.

I don't own a TV, although I do watch a lot of movies on my computer.

Truck is bare-bones. No power-anything, no CD player, etc. Not 'cause I was broke, it was a choice.

    LG245 camera phone
    RCA DVD player
iPod Shuffle (2nd gen.) with earphones and docking hub, never leave home without it
    3 USB keys (2 of them are 256MB, one is a 512MB)
cable internet (which I got back at the end of October of last year)

    My past "toys":

Aiwa MD (Minidisc) player (which I stopped using since I bought my Shuffle)

Yes and no. I've got an MP3 player since I can't live without music blaring into my ears and got tired of CD players, a digital camera, cable internet, a DS, and PS2 which is used for games and DVD player.

I watch TV on an old SDTV with rabbit ears. No cable on it, I just watch 2 networks and download the shows I can't see on those 2 channels. My PC is fairly outdated and I have no desire to upgrade it. The PS3/Xbox360/Wii will come when they have games I want.

I personally don't own anything that can connect to the Internet or make calls. Hell, the only game consoles that are mine are a Saturn and Dreamcast. I'm essentially mooching off the rest of my family, but it's okay since I'm the one who keeps everything running well.
