Do you brush before or after breakfast?

  1. Before. Gets rid of the night's plaque and germs. Bad breath during breakfast is disgusting.

  2. After. I'm eating again anyway. The bad breath doesn't bother me.

Just talking to someone about it yesterday, I thought I'd get a broader view, so here we go.
I prefer before, as it gets all the plaque and bacteria off after sleeping and I hate bad breath at the breakfast table. Sure, you will eat again, but plaque and germs have far less time to build up than when you sleep. I have heard some people mouthwash before and brush after as well. Which at least kills much the germs. :2c:

    You're assuming I brush.

Kidding, I honestly brush...whenever I feel my breath is overpowering.

You should brush before you eat/drink anything.

After. All I do prior to breakfast is mouthwash. Bad breath isn't something that really happens to me.

If you sleep with your significant other, brush ASAP. Everyone has ass breath when they get up, and the both of you should brush before thinking of being in the vicinity of their breath and nose.

Before since I won't eat breakfast for a few hours after I'm up.

Depends on where I am. If I'm at home I'll usually eat first then brush. If I'm away, as in deployed, I brush first with my morning routine then catch breakfast on the way to work.

Well, I used to know a chap of a certain ethnicity that, along with his family, only rinsed his mouth with water once a day - no brushing. No mouthwash. Heck, no deoderant. You can imagine I declined dinner invitations.

At school and whilst growing up it was taught to always, "brush before breakfast (in particular)" to eliminate bacteria and germ build up.
Before lunch and dinner as well, but chewing gum is more than often used between the two main brushes per day, before bfast and before bed.

Just had mine. Flawless. They are still bothering me about getting my wisdoms out though.

I've had a few crooked teeth for a while now, and they've mentioned braces several times. I'm sorta dreading that option...

I drybrush my teeth every day, I'm gonna ebay those bitches soon and make a killing.

I do it after breakfast, assuming I'm just having breakfast at home soon after getting up.

On a weekday, cause I have to get up at 5:30, get my ass ready, and get out the door, I brush before breakfast, cause breakfast for me is when I get to work at 7:30...

On any other day though, I prefer to eat first because a minty breakfast is freaking disgusting!

IMO the only thing that is quite 'yuck' after brushing is OJ. After a bite of toast, the taste is almost non-existant anyway. Plus, not many pastes are THAT minty in my experience. Unless you go for the extra minty ones I guess. Still, also depends on where in the world you are as pastes vary quite a bit - some of the Japanese ones scare me. :sly2:

    Before.

I have to brush my teeth as part of the morning wakeup routine. Plus I often don't eat lunch until a mid-morning browse.

I brush after. I pretty much eat as soon as I get up anyway. If I brush before, my mouth feels dirty immediately after eating.
