Personally, I'm quite fine with the trailer remaining, well, a trailer.

 

The more I think about it, the more I dislike the idea of combining with his trailer. I think Optimus would seem a lot more skilled and powerful if he managed to attain victory as a single truck. His feats would seem a lot more impressive if he didn't have the help of wings/armor/weapons platform/etc. Although, I'm certain they'll do SOMETHING at some point, to, you know, SELL MOAR TOYZ!!!

 

That's what he was in RiD..a firetruck, but the "connection" was the same, the empty backend connected to Optimus when he needed extra firepower.

 

Pretty much agree although as a place to store weapons would be pretty cool and believable, like dotm minus the jetpack.

Whatever amount of budget they would spend designing and animating an uber trailer for Optimus would be better spent on a new character or some more interesting backgrounds imo.

 

yeah I wouldn't want to see it as the default, but the combining could be something they save for when the shit really hits the fan.

Nope. Prime with trailers are lame. Toys never manage to live up and it would be a COMPLETE waste of CGI too just like shit in Bayformers like Devastator and Driller.

 

I don't want Prime to combine with anything just for the hell of it; there needs to be a reason. As things are, he and Megatron are most likely well matched, and as for the rest of the Decepticons, well, they're the ones that need help.

Rather than Prime combining with his trailer, I'd like to see something a bit more unique/old fashioned, a sentient trailer that can assist him in battle as a base or as a mute character

Well he can have more than one trailer. Anyway, the G1 PM Prime trailer turned into a battle station, so you can do both.

 

Only if he combines with his trailer while someone, lets say Arcee, or better yet Starscream, is inside it. So Screamy can live up to his name ifyouknowwhatImean.

 

it probably would considering a show's season budget is much smaller than a movie.
