Nope, that's his Cybertronian mode, not protoform mode. His alt mode was sufficient to travel between worlds, so he didn't need one.

Some additional figs would be neat, but not necessary. The OP and SS ones seemed to cover that alt mode, plus then we have the Trans-Scanning OP and BB, which both had the same frame, so it'd get redundant after a while. Now if they came out with newer, more unique molds, I'd be down for that!

Isn't just Protoform = Cybertronian mode?

I bought Defiance yesterday and really fall in love with the Cybertron Mode Prime, especially with his swords on. I would love it if Hasbro make Voyager/ Leader class Cybertronian Optimus Prime with the truck-like vehicle as seen in the comic

thas wat im thinking...the only reason the TF ever took on earth alt mode is to hide, other then that their protoform is their cybertron form...

i'm all for a BB protoform...

Oh yeah, I'd love to see more protoform modes of the autobots and decepticons. That would rock! Plus, I wouldn't mind buying another Bumblebee or Soundwave or Barricade since it's a totally different action figure!:p

Nope, that would mean OP and SS alt modes are meteors on Cybertron? Not the same thing... I know the prequel comic showed them in protoform mode prior to leaving Cybertron, but IIRC, they never showed their alt modes either...

I think there are too many unanswered questions though to be sure, so anything's possible I guess...I'm not an expert.

The thing though is that the Defiance comic actually made those they Cybertronian robot modes. Their Cybertronian alt modes in the comic were kinda similar to what they take on earth wise (Prime being a cybertronian truck and SS being a space/star fighter).

As for their appearance in the movie, the alt mode used was their entry forms.

i remember way back in 07, we were supposed to get ratchet and ironhide, versions of those, Transcanning things, like prime and bee. but they never were produced.

    i remember seeing sketches though...

but yea, the we could use more cybertron mode transformers that's for sure.

i don't know, it was back in 07... i am sure if you search "transcanning" you could find it here still in an earlier thread.

    firehawc_69

yea me too. too bad i could never find any here... the only one i ever got of those titanium's was the rodimus.

would LOVE to see more cybertronian forms, that's one of the things that makes this movie megatron *the tank* so awesome, that it's an "alien" tank, and nothing that we've ever had before. pretty cool, unique, and it looks MUCH more evil then the last version of megatron, lol

I'd love to see more Protoforms. Starscream was a good figure, but Prime was just fantastic. I think it would be great if Hasbro would release some more.

it would be great if next to the movie hasbro starts to sell a line of Transformers toys based in the comics :p
it would be great to have some transformers that didn't make it to the movie (protoform prowl, protoform arcee, and other cybertronian ones)
I never bought the protoform OP nor protoform SS when the first movie came... I didn't find them :(
