like for the ps3 and 360?
Gameshark's making various different tools for consoles these days, but no cheat devices for the next gen systems. There's unconfirmed rumors that an Action Replay is in production for the Wii next year.
lrn 2 ply k thx :3
Man I still have my Gameshark for my Game Boy Color.
I think the things are great. sometimes you want a greater challenge, so you use codes that affect your health, increase AI, make enemies stronger, etc...
or sometimes its just fun to just go in and whoopass by having things in the game earlier than you normally would. I like using them in both ways, easier and harder, and feel it adds a lot of replay value to older games.
I remember using one for Tiger Woods several years ago, so that we could make replicas of friends who wanted to play with us, and yet you start off with no stats or supplies. instead of having to say, give me a week, I'll committe all my free time to making your character for you so we can play THEN, I popped the thing in, and get their stats to be equal to my own, and were able to play right away with noone being handicapped.
even if they come out, don't expect them to work for long. they are unlicensed, and so the console makers can lock them out via firmware updates if they feel like it. Nintendo recently locked out the gamecube cheat devices from working on the Wii
Thus begins the era of online updating... Nintendo tried all manner of ways to lock out or otherwise stop cheat devices back in the day, from suing Galoob over the Game Genie to complex encryption on recent Pokemon games, now all it takes is a quick patch.
So, does my Gamecube-Action-Replay not work???
On an updated Wii it won't. And you can't stop the updates unless you stop playing new games.
i loved using my gameboy color gameshark for pokemon. Could catch a green mew-two and what not...crazy sheet.
Sob sob, and i really wanted to still use that.
Well, hopefully, Datel will make the ARP for the Wii updateable somehow, to compensate the updates of the System and provide those Updates for free, using the Systems online-abilities.
Yeah! Me too! I was actually popular for having the gameshark during my Grade 5 year. I was the only one who could get Mew, and I traded them for some hardcore rare pokemon.
I know how to make 99 Rare Candies still
the only way they could do it is if they replaced every person's disc every time there was a system update. that would not be smart financially.
No one knows for sure if the companies would lock them out, its just that nintendo has already proven that they can.
they will probably only lock it out on multiplayer games, specifically online ones. Cuz dealing with that stuff (HALO 2 MODDERZ) is annoying.
You can't even buy Action Replays on eBay anymore. I want one so I can play Japanese Ps2 games but they fetch a high price now.
Missing number cheat or are you talking about some kinda of game shark specific cheat.
Why would an Action Replay help with that. You need a mod-chip for that don't you?
no, they come with "the freeloader" program on them, which allows you to play region-free.
Aww man, mine doesnt have that on it. That sucks.
