'The Moron trio'. That's what i thought of them as too. He! He!

    BW Neo
Main Cybertrons consisted of: Big Convoy, Longrack, Cohrada, Break, Stampy, Heinrad and Mach Kick (who joined a little later in the series). 7 Cybertrons.

Main Destrons were: Magmatron, Guiledart, Dead End, Saberback, Sling and Archadis (who joined a little later too). 6 Destrons.

    What others were you counting?

And in BM, Megatron pretty much had an unlimited army of vehicons.

Pravus, i respect your vast knowledge of all TFs shows!

The Autobots had an advantage in BW, as well, even though the exact numbers tended to change a lot, due to new/dead/reformatted/ressurrected/merged characters.

An explanation could stem from the fact that in Japan, toys of 'bad guys' sell in far fewer numbers than 'good guys', so Takara produce toys accordingly.

The Decepticons are almost always outnumbered by the Autobots. Probably the only exception of this was in the Movie-verse when there was more Decepticons than the Autobots.

The G1 movie attack on Autobot City doesn't make much sense because the Decepticons had an army of only about 20, including the cassettes and individual Constructicons. The Autobots had a lot more soldiers.

That's probably also true in North America, though it may be by a smaller margin.

As far as I know, Earth is the only known planet where Transformers fiction has been produced. Hasbro Alpha Centaurai doesn't release their stuff over here. =P

I think the thread has shown that even in cases like the A/E/C trilogy and the Japanese continuities, the Autobots usually have a larger force. Its possible there are more Decepticons who are unknown, and simply not covered in the storyline, but if that's the case, its equally as likely there are unknown Autobots, right?

The oooriginal '84 gang that crashed on Earth had like, uh...13-14 Autobots, while the Decepticons only had like...what, only 8, right? Megatron, Soundwave, 3 seekers, 3 camerabots. I think they padded the Decepticon ranks occasionally in that first season with random re-colored characters, just to make the Decepticon forces look beefier.

...and the Insecticon clones...what was up with that? In one episode, there were like millions of them and they were all pretty tough. Another episode would roll along and it'd be just 3 insecticons again! I can't remember what happened there, but that's kinda weird.

Rockbuster, Randy, Sharp Edge, Bump, Survive, True One, Great Convoy, and Lio Convoy on the Maximal side.

Hydra, Crazybolt, Hardhead, Bazooka, and Killer Punch on the Predacon side.

Granted many of them didn't have major appearances or join the crew, but that even throughout the series, there were more Maximal "guest stars" then Predacon. I should've made that clearer that I wasn't just using the base crews, but the entire series cast.

Considering that the vehicons were made out of explodium with no intellect and were usually destroyed by the dozens, it's not the best of cast equalizers.

In the original G1 cartoon mini-series:

    Autobots
    1. Optimus Prime
    2. Bumblebee
    3. Cliffjumper
    4. Hound
    5. Mirage
    6. Sunstreaker
    7. Sideswipe
    8. Wheeljack
    9. Prowl
    10. Ironhide
    11. Ratchet
    12. Bluestreak
    13. Jazz
    14. Trailbreaker

    Decepticons
    1. Megatron
    2. Soundwave
    3. Ravage
    4. Rumble
    5. Laserbeak
    6. Starscream
    7. Thundercracker
    8. Skywarp
    9. Reflector
(And the argument can be made that the cassettes should all be grouped under Soundwave.)

Frankly, the Decepticons were woefully outnumbered and only succeeded due to Megatron's sheer insanity.

So from the very beginning, the Deceps have been outnumbered. This thread doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Well, I'm not gonna think through every TF show right now, but I think that the Autobots have the larger team for the most part.

The Autobots had the advantage...numbers wise at least. I don't think the Cons needed a lot of fighters because they were more brutal when they fought.

Beast Wars Season 1 started with the Predacons having a numerical advantage (6 to 4), then they were even when Dinobot switched sides (5 to 5). The numerical advantage shifted back and forth over the course of the show, but the factions generally stayed pretty close together.

Other than that, and the Movieverse, the number of Autobots has usually outnumbered the Decepticons in most presentations.

Beast Wars and Armada- Both sides were evenly matched.

Every other series the Autbots outnumbered the Cons due to the fact most of those series had the Cons be more powerful than the Autobots.

Good point. Forgot them. The Deceps should've rightly been clobbered.
