In the "Mexican Standoff" scene in DOTM, where Ironhide and Sideswipe go against Crankcase and Crowbar.

What it sounds like, is one of them saying "Give up" and the other one "Can't go home"

    What do you guys think?

They said something, all right. It just wasn't anything in English.

It definitely sounds that way. I've never actually heard it until you pointed it out in fact. Crowbar's "Can't go home" comes in much clearer than Crankcase's "Give up".

However, it may just be Cybertronian gibberish like we hear from most Decepticon cannon fodder.

The one's who've ever gotten actual speaking lines that come in clear as crystal are the top 'Cons like Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, and unfortunately Laserbeak (wished he never spoke at all in DOTM).

    They don't.

It's just cybertronian gibberish that people are misinterpreting as english words.

I actually didn't catch it until I saw the clip again and then repeated it few times. "Can't go home" definitely sounds more clear than "Give up", but you can catch it if you turn up the volume. Even tho it's supposted to be Cybertronian, it's possible those were the actual words spoken by voice actors and then modified with vocoder...

It's most likely Cybertronian, but I personally could definitely hear "Give up." and "Can't go home."

Weren't Crowbar's lines just reuses of Bonecrusher's yells from the first movie?

They are just speaking Cybertronian to each other.

I think that all their lines are variations on the theme of "BLAAAAAAAARGH".

Sounds more like "GET HIM" than give up.

I hear "I don't know" when Crowbar talks. So like

    "Give up?"

"I don't know" as he shrugs. (Literally he shrugs his shoulders. )

Then they choose to do it when Sideswipe yells "DROP EM" at them.

    As a rouse of course.

"Give up?" and "Can't go home!" both make perfect sense and seem pretty incontrovertibly definitive.

^ Exactly THIS, but minus the doubt and plus a lot more than just a vocoder.

    :)

'Give up' is understandable, but I sure as hell would like to know how 'Can't go home' would make any sense in the context of the scene.
