I'm hoping they make a set for the throne version. All they really need to do is replace all the orange with blue or black, but I'd be down with a change, like Optimal sized swords that can link together, or arm guns you can mount on his gauntlets

I finally managed to find an Optimal Optimus in the wild and immediately ordered this set. I can't wait! Optimal feels naked without his gun.;)

He's a great figure and this set will make him even better!

    I'm wondering the same thing.

I'd imagine if this sells well they might see the market for a Throne version....but it's definitely a subset of a subset; and if watching Shark Tank has taught me anything, Kevin O'Leary loathes these type of products!

If they could find a way to turn the alt mode into the Batman Tumbler, I’d consider it... replace the ape face too. Beast Wars is the biggest mistake in the history of the franchise.

I’d say there’s a greater likelihood since Takara is releasing the throne version and it’s not just sdcc. If perfect effect could do pc-20 for primitive prime dna can release this set for throne of primes

I don’t think you understand what the word mistake means. If you loathe beast wars like you appear to then why are you in a thread for an upgrade of a figure that is a beast wars homage?

If by mistake you mean "saved the franchise" then yes it is.

the franchise was all but dead after g2, its pretty well documented that beast wars did save the franchise from being nothing more than an 80s nostalgia trip in the early to mid 2000s like he-man 2003 and thundercats 2011

Yeah, I love the pre beast wars stuff Most of all but there is no denying it saved the franchise. Beast wars was great and it paid tribute to my beloved G1

Beast wars was scrap. Just like the way ppl who say bayformers arent transformers i say beast wars aint transformers. It drove me away from tfs all together and several others that i know. I didnt return to tfs till i heard of the live action movies

Why are you posting in a thread for Primal then?

And yeah, I don't think it's unobjective to say Beast Wars saved the franchise. The toyline and show did very well, causing Hasbro to step back in and take over from Kenner. We certainly wouldn't have had the decade of post-Beast Wars cartoons had it tanked.

Drove you away from what exactly? There were no new standard Transformers releases, the property was stale and using the same molds over and over. Beast Wars actually introduced new product into the brand and made it viable enough that Hasbro and Takara cared again.

Just because you didn’t like it doesn’t mean the Beast Era didn’t breathe new life into the franchise.

So what are the chances of there being an add-on kit for the SDCC Throne of Primes?

I would assume at least 50/50. DNA repainted (and consolidated) the Fort Max upgrade kit for Grand Max, and he was only produced in the 2-3k range (granted, that kit is still widely available). Between SDCC, HTS, and the Takara release, there should be at least that many Throne figures. Hopefully they haven't teased it yet because they're going to make some changes.

Believe what you want, but the facts prove you wrong.
