Why is everyone so interested in dogs fighting? Give me a mongoose and a cobra anyday....
Now you are talking... Or my favorite. Man Vs. Greased Pig.
Hmm, Sounds like a lot of speculation, THis could be a headache.
[GIR]Can I be a mongoose dog?[/GIR]
Comment unrelated: I saw this thread title and went WTF DID I DO NOW?!?
I love how they try to justify dog fighting. Yeah, wild beasts, happens in the wild, mind your own, blah blah blah - far as I'm concerned, stick THE OWNERS in cages, pump them full of steroids, starve and torture them, and let THEM go at one another. THEN euthanize the loser in the most inhumane way possible.
Humans, the greatest animals in the world - but still animals.
Hopefully there's more crackdowns in the future; seems like the Michael Vick thing got some serious gears in motion.
While its sick, this shit only fuels the media's focus on entertainment news. Nows excuse me while I go to watch CNN cover this all day.
Wow, I mis-read the title; thought it was about the board member DMK.
The DMX case is about animal cruelty and involves Pit Bull Terriers, but is unrelated to dog fighting. People are just making that connection on their own because the Vick case is so prominent in their minds right now.
So did DMK.
Although it makes you wonder what those dogs are for.
DMX has been in so much crap, how is it that he isn't in prison already?
For maintaining his tough thuggy image, probably.
Oooh...let's pit DMX in a fight with Vick, and kill the loser.
Come to think of it, we'd have to kill 'em both
Any dog in the hands of a bad owner can be a "bad" dog. It just happens that pitt bulls give off that tough guy image that little guys want.
I actually believe the "caretaker not feeding the dogs" bit. I've read lots of interviews with dmx, and while a quite troubled dude, he actually seems like he would be a nice guy.
Didn't DMX at one point have a music video that involved dogs chasing people? Something about stop being greedy.
Why didn't anyone do anything then?!
Pit Bulls have a tough look and are strong as hell. You practically have to hit them to get them to notice you and stop a bad behavior because they are so strong that light little taps don't really register for them.
That being said, I've never met a pit bull in real life that was anything but a sweet, energetic dog that wanted to be around people and get attention from them.
Seems to me like you have to be a ruthless evil bastard to be able to push pit bulls to the breaking point.
They are naturally aggressive. All it can take is negligence to turn these dogs aggressive. Train them, socialize them, walk them often, and the chances of a pit (or any other dog) attacking someone is slim.
I've seen both aggressive, and playful, passive pits bulls. One was at a dog training class, the other was tied up in a yard. Guess which one was which.
I don't know about that, but I believe he does have a pitbull on an album cover and in the liner notes brags about how many fights that dog has won.
Yeah, realized that; just twinged that nerve in me again. I don't understand how you're going to find dogs like that if they WEREN'T involved in fighting. Then again I've seen all those Animal Cops shows and realize how absolutely irresponsible and disgusting people are with animals, so there's my point nulled.
Regardless of which, if he loves dogs so much... how the deuce did he let this happen? (Bringing me back to the "smells like dog fighting" thing.)
Can't wait to see how this one gets sorted.
