Er, no. Michael Bay should direct Transformers 3 to keep all three films consistent.

This director of District 9... if they decide to reboot the Transformers live-action films, then maybe then he can direct them.

What she said... It'd be neat to see what that fellow would do if he were made director for a reboot series of movies though.

I'm not opposed to future re-boots being done by new teams, but for the sake of continuity then next- and final?- installment should be done by as many of the existing team as possible.

Ah yes, since consistent crap is so wonderful.

Let ANYBODY else direct it IMO.

I was really impressed by all the things he managed to pull off with District 9 so heck I'll watch about anything the guy directs now. Having him direct a Transformers film would totally kick ass since he has shown he can mix aliens, tech, story telling, and character into a really great film.

But I agree that I'd rather see it done as a re-boot rather than seeing if he could somehow make up for the Bay weak areas of the films so far.

I'd rather watch ANY Uwe Boll movie that Transformers again...

At least his movies are so bad that they are actually freaking hilarious, ROTF on the other hand was just BAD!

    Oh god, not him.

But yeah, considering how District 9 kicked ass at the box office, I'd love it if the director went on to do Transformers 3 instead of Bay.

I'm assuming that you haven't seen the new Star Trek movie...

I'll stick with Michael Bay, thanks.

I want Orci and Kurtzman to return, not Bay and Kruger.

I'd really like to see him direct a transformers movie, but his style is more R rated than what TF is use to.
If he did have to direct Tf, then he should have begun in 2006, now it's too late, Bay has done a good job so far, the only problem is his humor, and character development.

It will be interesting to see the brawl between D10 and TF3 in the box office in 2012!!!

    I can go for that.

    Twice.
The first time was to see it... the second time to see what everyone was "ooh"ing and "aaahhh"ing over.

To me, it doesn't live up to the hype. The story was a mess, and they did too mant stupid things with it.

Personally, I suspect that much of Star Trek's adoration comes from:
    A) Its visual appeal
    B) It was a sci-fi space show in the middle of a sci-fi space show drought
    C) It was Star Trek
    D) It had Kirk, Spock and- most importantly- Leonard Nimoy.

Its problems were thus forgiven and the film was heralded.

    I agree.
Seriously, for as much time as they had- AND being elevated to Producers- that was the best they could do?

I'm hoping a longer Directors cut is released on DVD in the hopes that things flow better.
