I realize this was probably talked to death back when Armada was going on, but is Armada Sideswipe supposed to be a distant relative of the Victory TF, Road Caeser?
Both have car themed alt modes (not really a big deal) but both end up with similar baggage on their hips as a result of the transformation. See the little comparison pic:

Right off hand, I can't think of too many other TFs that have that kind of hip kibble.

Then theres the visor; both seem to have very similar tastes in eye-wear:

    Distant cousins, perhaps?

Concur, and there's only so many ways to make a non-beast robot face. Actually I think Armada Sideswipe is a homage to no one except maybe by name.

The fandom wouldn't allow it, mainly because that version of Sideswipe is hated but Road Caesar is obsessed over.

I see some similarities, but I think they're probably only coincidental.

Why is that Road Caesar dude so desirable? Is he that rare?

I never saw the appeal. I always hated Sideswipe's legs, and I always thought something was off about Caesar's too, and now Butz has also noticed it. Frankly I think this is a valid comparison.

It's probably total coincidence, but there's definitely something there, at least in some of the elements. I'd say Road Ceasar and Armada Sideswipe have as much or more in common than say... G1 Wheeljack and Cybertron Downshift, for example.

I have to agree with Feralstorm..

Still.. some similarities..and for somereason I always found that kibble on Sideswipe.. and the figure itself to be kind of endearing.. almost like MC Hammer Pants in the 80's...
