Hey guys. Here's an easy little project if you have a spare MP seeker base (which somehow I did)

Made a fun little display base for ROTF Autobot Jolt. To begin with, I sanded off the embossed 'con symbol. Got that area real smooth...added a reprolabel autobot faction sticker in it's place (at the end) the base (like said above) is from a MP Starscream, sprayed black, then airbrushed a dark blue (thick lined) royal blue (thinner line) and finally a light blue (very thin jagged line) finally went over that with a thin brush an even lighter blue (almost white) all this to give an electric jolt type feel along some of the panel lines.

The name "JOLT" was applied using a white water slide decal, and hand painted around the letter to match and blend into the base's black.

That electric blue on the base is awesome, man. It looks like the base is shattering and we can see the energy inside. And that leads me to my question.

I was wondering, did you debate whether to have the blue energy lines "engraved" in the base? To give them more of a cracked look? IMO it would look even better. But then, could you still use the painting technique you used for the energy lines?

Anyway, kick ass work once again.

Oh and these bases, you should cast them! I'm sure people would love to have some without shelling out for the MP figure that's supposed to come with it :D

I really like the energy effect you used (and your explanation of the process), as well as everything you've done here. I'm really keen on that font you used as well. Nice work :thumb

Nice job on the base F_R. It would have been cool if you were to utilize the clear attachment to the base to suspend Jolt and pose him in mid-air. You could probably add an LED to the base at the connection point so it lights up the attachment when connected.

Broken record alert, even I thought there was LEDs underneath. Wow, great description on how you pulled that off, it SOUNDS simple and obvious but this is surely a feat to create. Thanks F_R, that's really some inspiring, stunning work!

    Thanks for the compliments guys.

I'd cast these, but they are quite large. One day, I will make a smaller 'castable' base. Next time I make something like this, I'll do a step by step tutorial. With an air brush it's quite easy.

Great job on the paint! I thought it was powered up as well! Just awesome. Ever thought about making a plaster cast of the larger bases? I'd imagine it would be more cost effective. Or vacuforming, but you need to make a vac table, can be costly and time consuming.

I'd buy one just to set my prime on it. Even though you might think they are big, It'd be great if you could cast the one you have. If you do decide to cast them, please pm me!

This figure and base is one of my favorites from your collection.

Wow, those blue electric lines are amazingly painted!
