Darn. Wouldnt' it be nice if for ONCE somebody kept the story of stuff they made movies for? ;( grew up with that show. *snif
I got really exciting reading the title, then I read everything.... the fuck Disney? The cartoon was amazing, if they made a live action film I bet it would do very well, but no... way to fuck shit up Disney
I'm really surprised that they didn't do a cartoon based Gargoyles movie considering we're getting the already dubbed as fecal matter Smurfs, but then again, that's Disney. They wouldn't know good entertainment if Walt himself came out of the grave to fist Robert Iger. I completely anticipate a Gummi Bears movie where rockets shoot out their butts next, and the berry juice is nitro.
I'm a HUGE fan of Gargoyles but seeing this: "The trade says the project is not tied to "Gargoyles," the animated TV series that Disney produced in the 1990s, or a comic book that was later produced by series creator Greg Weisman." means I have no interest in whatever thing the studio is pulling together under the name. Damn Disney just let Weisman do a film his way, like when the show was amazing before you kicked him off and ruined it before canceling it. At least give me the rest of season 2 on dvd already. Ugh, now I'm all angry!
The grisly live-action Gargoyles that almost was This is old concept art that was planned around the 90s-early 2000s, before Jordan Peele wanted to do his version. It was done by VFX legend Rick Baker. GOLIATH OTHER DESIGNS The link contains an early script, which was not faithful to the show apparently. “We weren’t doing it for kids, we were trying to do what Marvel eventually ended up doing so well.”
Holy shit these are frikkin' rad. Though I doubt it would've been that good. A cool look into the past either way.
Damn, I bet those would’ve looked cool with state of the art 90’s effects. I know not everybody CGI character these days can look like Thanos but if this ever comes to life, I’d love to see a super well mo-capped Goliath. Let’s get to it guys, Ed Asner is still around!
