Disneyland has been evacuated over a suspicious package found. EDIT: The "threat" has been cleared, apparently it was a message in a rolled up tube and the message was spiritual yet threatening in nature. A boy has come forward as being the one who placed the thing in the trees. He said he was playing a game. Charges may be pending depending on the outcome of the investigation.
Hope the kid enjoys having a record for being a dumbass. It doesn't matter if it was a 'joke', you don't do shit like that, especially at a public place like Disneyland. Disney had to tread it as if it was a bomb. If they hadn't & it was, they would be facing millions in fines/lawsuits/legal issues.
Exactly. I hope they throw the book at him for this. I mean, the brat was not only an idiot for doing it in the first place, but also for getting caught & admitting to it. In my book, that's 3 strikes too many. Heh
well it is also costing Disney money. In order to accomodate the guests who were put out they are keeping the parks open extra hours. Disneyland is staying open until 1am (they originally were open until Midnight), and Disney California is staying open until 10pm (originally they were open until 9pm), they are also putting in an extra showing of Fantasmic and World of Color. That's a lot of money to not only put on those productiopns but also to pay all those staff members to stay later (overtime in most cases). He will probably have to repay Disney all that money. As stupid as he was in doing this, at least he came forward.
Still stupid. Also, I hope they make him work at that park for a while instead of just making his parents pay a shitload of money, especially since this should be on him instead of them.
I thought this thread was gonna be about Mickey Mouse turning out to be a suicide bomber. Glad nobody got hurt though...
I've been googling the crap out of this, and every single news story just says it was food in the backpack. Nothing about a rolled up tube and a spiritual message. OP, we need a source for your facts. **EDIT** Those stories are from 2010. Can't find anything about this one.
I don't see Disney going after the kid for playing a stupid prank. The fallout from them trying to hang him would end up being much worse than the steps they're taking now, I would imagine.
Suspicious object found at Disneyland was 'spiritual message' - latimes.com There's a source for y'all.
