While I could have posted this in Cool Stuff or 1/6th Figures, I felt it was neat enough to deserve an appropriately named thread.

So yeah. Dirty Deeds Bertie the Pipebomb, created by comic legend Ashley Wood. Freaking ridiculous. I literally don't have anywhere to put him other than on the dining room table because he's too bloody tall for ANY of my shelves. He's massive to the nth degree, and freaking gorgeous to boot. MP Prime's head barely reaches his shoulders, as a size reference. His Machete is as long as Lockdown is tall, and weighs twice as much.

The rust texturing is simply sublime. Sublime.

Tin roof! RUSTED! (Oh crap, wrong song...)

The figure came with a limited signed print as well, which I'll try to scan at work tomorrow. The whole package is super sexy. Just don't ask how much it was ... (it was not, sadly, dirt cheap...)

this reminds me (and I almost thought it was, for a minute) of something from scud: the disposable assassin.

I hate you. I wanted one of these so bad, but I just can't swing the cost right now. Someday...

I was fighting the urge to buy one of these at the NYCC all weekend. The price was pretty steep. In the end, I spent comparable money on a bunch of little crap I don't remember and hot dogs. up until seeing this thread, I thought I made the best decision..

That almost goes beyond the farthest definitions of "toy" and begins to enter the realm of "sculpture/artistic piece." Incredible, incredible, incredible.

There's no metal other than a couple of eyehooks on his belt and the support post (which I had to chop a quarter inch off of so his feet would touch the ground), he's actually mostly soft vinyl, with his accessories being cloth and heavy solid-cast resin. Every square centimeter is painted; even the web gear belt is weathered to make it dusty and a little worn looking. The base is super heavy as well, which when combined with his rather light frame makes him extremely stable which is awesome considering how big he is.

It was a stupidly expensive purchase, but he's just so gorgeous that I'm seriously considering getting the desert rat version, too. Since I wouldn't be ordering direct, it wouldn't be quite as expensive that way, at least :p

The figure came with a limited edition signed print, too, which is pretty awesome. I need to get a frame for it.

He's actually a really fun and sturdy toy just to play with, too, thanks to the soft vinyl construction :D . It's just a damn shame he's so blasted expensive, because I honestly think everyone should have one of these.

Oh, and yes, I'm quite mad. You're mad, I'm mad, we're all mad here.

So how much did you pay for this? I know the Desert Rat version is $300...Or rather $299.

More than that, since I bought it direct from bambaland and it was one of the first 50, including the limited edition print (I got #39).

Those looking for their own Berties at this point, I'd probably recommend checking Alter Ego Comics, as you can pick one up with shipping (a few months from now, granted) for around $280.
