That's what I thought at first, too, but then I realized they meant he might come with the launchers.

This would be a good thing for all of those who bought the US release of Hot Shot, as they could simply transfer the guns over to him if they wanted.

They would have to cut out a section of the back bumper as well.

I have the Universe mold (couldn't resist the JaAM) and I don't think it's all that bad either. The toy itself only has two major flaws imo, the inability to securely peg the chest piece to the back piece in bot mode (it holds together, but it's not tight) and the fact that his shoulder spoilers get in the way of his back kibble. If the spoilers were on the kibble itself, it would have been a hundred times better. However when you take those two issues and add them to the problems of getting an obscenely crappy Minicon with his lack of weapons, and I can see why people don't like him.

Personally, I'm a fan of the little yellow bastard, so I can overlook most of those issues. However, if he came with his initially planned guns and his shoulders didn't mess up his back kibble placement, he would have been a much better figure.

Or just set the guns aside in car mode, as I for one usually don't take my exacto to club or con exclusives. But hearing this news, I don't think it will come to that.

Oh. Well I don't have either toy, so I didn't know the Henkei and Universe versions were any different.

For those of you that may be confused about how Hot Shot's shoulder kibble changed when Hasbro removed the blasters from the Universe release, here is a helpful image:

Notice how the shoulders in the image representing the Henkei release do not touch? That is because in alt-mode the blasters stick out the back like exhaust pipes and there is a space there for them to do this. Hasbro "patched up" the space when they omitted the blasters for the Universe release, thus making his arms go bumpity bump into each other.

So not only does Dion hopefully get the Blasters, but he also gets the arm movement to pose with them.

Really? I own the Henkei version too, and I STILL can't get the damned thing to pose. The holes in the shoulders really only do so much to help the over all pile of crap that is the design of that toy...

Still - I must admit, firing launchers DO soften the blow a little. If only he could point them at something...

Na I mean you'd have to cut it out of the bumper of US shotshot, if Dion came with the guns I'd like to think FP would have the sense to use the bumpers that let the guns fit in car mode.

Can't get it to pose? Yeesh... don't use the standard transformation, re-arrange the back kibble and there are no "bumpity-bump" or clearance problems.

Doesnt matter. Because of the spoilers on the shoulders and how the kibble is, you seriously CANNOT use the articulation in the shoulders to any effect.

The Henkei version of this mold is really no improvement.

That would conform nicely to his bio in the new Timelines comic that states he has "flame launchers utilize a reverse-Higgs Mechanism that decouple energy from matter... They also double as boosters in vehicle mode."

Dude, I have the figure, yes you CAN use the articulation with creative placement of the back kibble. Ok... maybe evidently YOU can't but I can.

Not to mention the way the arm hinge is. without a pin there, the arms fall off in transformation constantly.
