Dinosaur transformers have long been a focus of my toy collecting. So I hope this thread will bring out other collectors with a similar niche - folks who love the Dinobots in all continuities, who have almost all the different decos and retools of the original BW Dinobot mold, whose grails are Dinoking and the Dino Cassettes.

I'm currently trying to complete a list of all the Transformers with dino alt. modes. (I'm aware that Swoop and all other pteranodons and pterosaurs are not technically dinosaurs, but let's ignore that.) Should I count the Action Master versions of Grimlock and Snarl? Seeing as they don't have alt. modes... though Snarl does come with a little transforming dino partner.

If there's any interest, I'll make the complete list available so y'all don't have to dig too.

Dinobot collectors unite! My focus are dino TFs, too. :D  (Except all other dinos are second priority to BW Megs.) However, I also count characters that usually transform into dinos at some point, IE Dawn of Future's Past.

I would love to have Dinoking and the JP Dino Cassettes, but it's never gonna happen. Blah.

I'll post pictures of what dinobots I have at some point since I recently acquired some new guys. :)

The Dinobots are the reason I got into Animated.
I wanted a set, so I picked the Animated versions of them.
Thought they were cool, so I started getting more.

I can't call it a focus but Dinobots are some of my fav TFs...and the G1 Dinos are my top fav Transformers :)

I definitely don't have ALL of the Dinosaur Transformers out there, but I have quite a few. I'll have to take pics one of these days.

    I love dinosaur Transformers!

They aren't the focus of my collection by any means, but Beast Wars Telemocha Ultra Megatron is one of the greatest figures of all time!

    I also have:
    BW Transmetal Megatron
BW Transmetal 2 Megatron (ok, he's a dragon but still...)
    BW Transmetal 2 Dinobot
    Henkei Dinobot
    Henkei Grimlock
    Masterpiece Grimlock
    Animated Grimlock
    Animated Swoop
    Animated Snarl
    G1 Trypticon
    G1 Sky Lynx

...I think that's it, although I do have Armada Predacon in the post as we speak. Would be interesting to see a full list of dino TFs for each line. I bet there are a lot more than people realise.

As much as a fan of preshistoric animals, I don't have many dinosaur transformers besides classics deluxe Grimlock. and the red repaint of Beast Wars Megatron. It's just that there's something about animal-based Transformers that just doesn't interest me. I like the more robotic-look than a robot hiding under an organic shell. I think it's better for a Transformer just to transform into a robotic-animal and have some sort of hologram projected over it to make it look and even feel real. I wouldn't doubt it that they have that kind of technology either :)

I fully agree. I still hope for a leader or even a supreme Trypticon figure than turns into a battleship of sorts. Hopefully Hasbro will have plans for a future figure. The poor brute hasn't gotten any attention at all up until recently.

I could see Trypticon as a Giganotosaurus. Not exactly based off of a Giganotosaurus' design, but for something more along the lines of Gojulas Giga from Zoids: Fuzors.

Now imagine that with a pair of missle launchers and colored purple with a few hints of green for detail and orange. :D
Alot of the Zoids designs would work well for the animal transformers.
UPDATE: Now suddenly I just got back into Zoids :lol  does anyone know a site that updates all the new figures that have been released? Is there an official site? Doesn't matter what lanaguage it's in I'll just use a translator.

I guess we could count all reptilian transformers with these guys too, right? I'd love to see a redo of Sky Lynx.

Sky-Lynx is officially a "dino bird," and a lynx. So he's half dinosaur. But I wouldn't get my hopes up for a new Sky-Lynx any time soon. Aaron Archer has said in interviews that Sky-Lynx is his least favorite G1 Transformer. Or something to that effect.

My sole collecting goal is to obtain one of every species of dinosaur (or other prehistoric reptile) represented in Transformers.

    So far, I have:
-Triceratops (TFA Snarl, BM and Universe Triceradon)
-Tyrannosaurus (TFA Voyager+Fireblast Grimlock, Universe Overkill)
    -Deinonychus (Universe Dinobot-like hell he's a Velociraptor)
    -Stegosaurus (BM Striker)
    -Archaeopteryx (BM Airraptor)
    -Pteranodon (TFA Swoop)
    -Pachycephalosaurus (BM Dinotron)

    And what I need are:

    -Giganotosaurus (Magmatron)
    -Elasmosaurus (Magmatron)
    -Quetzalcoatlus (Magmatron or BM/Universe Skydive)
-Ankylosaurus (BWN Bazooka or Dinobots Slapper)
    -'Brontosaurus' (G1 Sludge)
-Styracosaurus (BWN Killerpunch, or the PCC Dinobots team, which allegedly has one)

I'm not counting the Headmaster cassettes because, unless there is a reissue of them, they will be far too hard to get for me to seriously consider.

I collect dinosaur toys/models in addition to TFs, so they're a natural draw to me. Dinobot was my favorite Beast Wars character initially just because he was a dinosaur. I actually don't own too many dinoformers but am always on the lookout for coolness.

I just love the Dinobots. They are not a huge focus of my collection, mostly because of the prices of G1 dinos, but they have always been some of my favorites, from the 80s up until today.

    I have:

    KO "reissue" Slag
    G2 Grimlock
    G2 Snarl
    G2 Sludge
    Animated Grimlock
    Animated Snarl (I think?)
    2xAnimated Swoop

I hope to get all G1 dinobots eventually, even if they are just KOs (just as good as the original, but not THAT pricy).
Biggest dream would be a set of Generations Dinobots :D

In Japan I guess they do. The last one I got was back in '07, it was a neoblox Gojulas MKII figure. Pretty sweet figure :D  man I miss building model kits like that.

Back on topic, I plan on adding Magmatron to my collection. I remember seeing him in a collectible toys shop a while back and he caught my eye.

Anyone else excited about the Power Core Combiners dinosaur team? I wasn't at Botcon, haven't seen any pics, but I am still stoked about it!
They're calling him Grimstone for now.... I'd love to be the one to write that bio. The name conjures up ideas of a relation of Grimlock's. But I do hope they don't call the combined mode "The Beast." Most fans seem to hate that story.

That was one of the pleasant surprises for me from Botcon.

I loved dinosaurs as a kid (big surprise), so naturally dino-transformers are always nice to see. In my collection so far...

G1 Grimlock, Slag, Slugfest and Overkill
BW Megatron, Dinobot, Terrorsaur, Lazorbeak, TM Megatron & TM Terrorsaur
Japanese BW Guiledart, Saberback, Sling, Archadis
    BM Terranotron
    Classics Dinobot
    Armada Terrorsaur
    Energon Grimlock & Swoop
    Animated Grimlock, Slag/Snarl & Swoop
    MP Grimlock

I still need to track down the remaining G1 Dinobots and Trypticon. The Japanese G1 dino cassettes are probably out of my reach, unfortunately.
