    When Prime confronted Megatron, what was Megatron staring and smiling at? I don't understand why the Dinobots where weak against Devastator and not even do a little damage on him let alone make the Constracticons disengage. The Dinobots were a huge force and sometimes hesitating missions and in season 3 they were all mushy and soft. I don't understand why? And where their only 4 Dinobots in TF:TM and not 5?

    Things people keep telling Wheeljack30:
    1) You're thinking too deeply about it. It was just an oftentimes half-arsed cartoon meant to sell toys.
    2) Just read the Transformers Wiki if you're looking for information.

    He never acknowledges either.

    Not animated except for storyboards, Megatron was smiling at the Constructicons shooting Red Alert in the head.

    Megatron had just spray painted 'Optimus Prime sucks' on the wall and was admiring his tagging skills.

    Storyboards showed Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, Red Alert and Tracks taking down Devastator with their respective shoulder mounted missiles. The Dinobots didn't follow Dev into Autobot City.

    As time goes on technology advances. Thusly the dinobots became, as a result.of advancement, weaker. The decepticons made better war machines. Upgrading and recycling really didn't seem to be a big concept in g1.

    They just did what the director told them to do.

    Contract dispute.

    Really, it's best not to read too much into it. If I had a nickel for every time a TV show or movie ignored common sense and established canon for plot expediency, I'd have more money than Bill Gates and Steve Jobs combined. Just go with it and enjoy the movie. Or come up with your own reasons.

    The Dinobots did not get weaker. They had bad management. Grimlock getting called a "Bozo" by Hot Rodimus did not help. Only Wheeljack and Optimus Prime could get the best out of the Dinobots.
