This has always confused me. Transmetal II Dinobot has a hidden seat in his beast mode.

The "seat" is completely formed during transformation, all you do is leave his back panel flipped up.

    Coincidence, you say?

Well, the "arm rests" of the seat have perfectly positioned "controls" on them, and there's a VERY convenient hole at the bottom for some tiny legs to go in. The controls are impossible to get a picture of because of the white plastic and my lack of photography skill.

Transform him yourself and you'll hopefully see what I'm talking about.

Anyone else think this may be one of the "removed features" like TMII Megatron and Tigerhawk's little chairs?

side note, i always wondered why tigerhawk and megatron had chairs...was that a homage to pre tf dinobots and such?

Originally, OpOp, TM2 Megs and Tigerhawk were to have "spark avatars" which would ride in the included cockpits.

The idea was omitted before production

G1 Grimlock also had what appeared to be a seat hidden in his back. To this day I still don't know what it is/was supposed to be.

G1 toys were Diaclone/Microman which meant the toys had seats for the ltittle drivers the toys came with?

I never had a G1 Grimlock, but I assume that would be the seat for the Diaclone pilot.

Steve's cool and all, but you go around calling him Jesus and he's liable to get (even more of) a god complex.

    :p  ;)

And I never even noticed these seats on any of the TM2s. Go figger.

A little guy for the seat? I've heard of this - and seen listings mention the inclusion of such a driver - but never seen it before. What's it look like?

    Hey

Hay you seen this movie? I'm spanish and I saw this film a motnh ago (more or less) in the cinema, I didn't like it.... Too much ultraviolence for me...

About the thread, Original G1 Optimus Prime had seats in his truck mode, and the robot of the convoy too. Did everything come from the microman series?

Ooooh, just barely see it! What does the little guy look like? That is, is it supposed to be a particular TF character?

Man, I just spent $80 on a diecast black Mecha Godzilla. I hope Cryotek can wait for me!

Most of the 1984 and 1985 G1 toys came from the Diaclone and Microman Microchange lines. The Autobot cars, Dinobots, Insecticons had drivers compartments.
