This is my first (of many) collaborations with another artist. I was lucky enough to have JAF (of sector70) add incredible articulation to *good* condition Dinobots I picked up across the boards and on ebay.

You'll find larger and more images of these guys, including group shots later this week on my website (click my banner)

The golden color was a challenge to hit, but I am happy with the overall palette. I created duplicate sets of the stickers on illustrator and created water slide decals, which you can see throughout the custom(s)

Thanks to JAF and the fan who commissioned the project. Definitely gonna revisit this project one day and take it to the ultimate level be having them combine

Anyway, Here's Snarl! (this is gallery 4 of 5)

Ha, he's doin tricks like an elephant! That's great. Were you able to actually keep him balanced for his hand stand? That's wicked if you did. Love the pain work on these figures! Though snarls eyes look a little odd to me for some reason, kind of bugged out or something. Great work again though!

I;m starting to see that it's all the little details with the painted darks and lights that make your bashes so great. another awesome one.

oh! I just realized, why is Snarl the only dinobot that has articulated hands? I going to guess because you and JAF could think of a way to do and/or were limited by the modes themselves.

My least favourite of the bunch. I really liked the gold on this one. The yellow plates makes the figure look a bit too dull.

    But incredible work anyway!

it bugs me that his shoulders sit so far out and away from the torso. The colors look good though.

    Thanks guys!

That would be awesome. Hasbro...come in Hasbro....

Like I said on the other thread, finding dinobots in good condition that weren't over $100 was a challenge in itself. The ones I got (minus swoop) didn't come with weapons (they are expensive) I am ordering some repro sets of them for future revisits on this project.

    .... + .

Thanks for noticing. Each dinobot has a goofy/funny alt mode pic. I actually like the eyes, he's got such a cute face, I want to pinch his cheek.

The hands are a pain on all of them. I can't speak for JAF, but I will guess each dino had his personal hurdle for why the hands were avoided. These aren't articulated, but (guessing) they are gundam hands. If I had a few extra hours each day, I would have added them, though I think it would be close to impossible on swoop and slag.

Thanks, I think...What would you have done to the plates? they are supposed to be monochrome. I think the fact that there are like 20 on him already cause enough busy-ness, adding anything more to those would be overkill.

    thanks ;)

no way, lol. I am still learning :)

The huge shoulders need that space for freedom to move about. I do see where you're coming from though, that was one of the first things the commissioner mentioned when I showed him the galleries.

    Thanks!
