I have a question, I bought a slag a while back, misb, has the original price sticker, and read on the back it was from Macau, I have read several articles on geocities stating that the other dinobots were made in japan and macau but that a slag macau is very rare
does anyone know how true this is ????????????????

I did confirm when I bought the dinobots that none of them are fakes, they are all generation1
thanks for any advice on this

Yes if you do indeed have one it is rare. I too would love some pics as I document variations.

Get an account with a photo-hosting site like photobucket.com (it's free), upload the picture there, then copy the IMG Code listed under the picture and paste that in a post here.

well he looks generation 1 alright. the question is bootleg or not and i don't know what to look for. i don't even know what dinobots have been bootlegged aside from swoop. though, would a bootlegger put macau on a box?

    Looks legit to me!
Hopefully these pics will draw some input from some knowledgable collectors about rarity. Especially a MISB example such as this.
    Opinions?????

Hmm. I'm glad someone brought up the subject of Macau, because I was wondering if that meant my Sealed G1 toy was a knock off. I have a G1 MOSC Squawktalk & Beastbox, and it says "Made In Macau.." on the back.

The thing is, it was under a layer of black ink or something, and the black ink layer was barely noticeable unless you put it in the right light. Is it a knockoff? :(

Macau doesn't automatically mean it's a knockoff. I distinctly remember having a Warpath marked Macau back in the day.

I had some micromasters marked Macau way back in the early 90s, one of the tampos rubbed all the way off though so you can't see it now :/

I know that the dinobots were made in several locations including macau, just had heard a few rumors that no one had seen a slag, but seeing that a few of you might have some of the reissues, arent all the reissues plastic and no metal body parts ?????????????? every reissue i have seen are all plastic, but lets keep the comments coming, and thanks to everyone who has replied so far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, but instead of being displayed in full view like the Slag here, it was covered up in some black ink or something. It wasn't noticeable until I put it in the light at an angle. I rubbed it carefully and then I read it was made in Macau. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. If not, then YAY!

All of the reissues have had identical amounts of metal parts to the original releases. What reissues have you seen that were all plastic?
