`possible mirage dotm deluxe?
Isn't this like the 6th time this has been "reported?" Thats' a Knock-Off!
A:in the wrong forum
B:really really really old and fake
Why did he look a lot like mudflap?
It's fake, you can tell because there's a red Mudflap, and a weird head that isn't mirage's. By the way, are you thirsty, Driller?
I agree it's a KO. I've seen the youtube video where the kid opens the thing up and it's like a worst of the worst KO that literally folds out like a Rescue Bot. Regardless, I think the bigger question should be; why did we never see a real Dino in the DOTM line? Has this been answered elsewhere already??
Hasbro knew Mattel woulfn't allow a real Ferrari. They made a Ferrari lookalike, and Mattel didn't like that either, Mir... Dino's on screen presence being enough for Mattel to legally argue Hasbro were infringing on an agreement they had in place with Ferrari. Regardless of the fact it looked sort of like a Ferrari, rather than being a replica.
But wouldn't the deal with Ferrari to include one of their vehicles in the film include the rights to make a toy based on that character/vehicle? I mean, doesn't Ferrari control that license to a certain degree, and if they allowed their car in the movie wouldn't a toy naturally follow on? And more importantly, why even include a friggin Ferrari in the movie in the first place if you can't make a toy out of it?? Slick looking vehicle yes, but there are a huge number of other sports cars which would sufficed in its place. Just sayin.
No, broadcast license, likeness license, marketing appearance license, and merchandising license are all different things.
Granted, but again, why even use that vehicle if you can't make a toy out of it? I realize on the one hand Bay puts vehicles in TFormers to tickle his own fancy, but I'd imagine Hasbro and Bay coordinate pretty closely so that he isn't chosing a slew of vehicles that can never be made into toys. After all, Hasbro is a toy company last I checked.
Were Dino a sideline, blink and you miss him, character, fine, no toy. But he had a prominent role and a toy seems like a no-brainer. This whole thing just seemed very poorly thought out to me- including a licensed vehicle in a prominent role where no toy can be made.
Dino/Mirage already has two names. Why on Earth would he go by "Super Racing"?
Anyways, it's an upsized, slightly modified Legends Barricade:
all those pics that we saw on this post are !!!!FAKE!!!
i hope we see or get a mirge/dino toy????
that toy is awesome
Someone on here in one of the threads said that a HASBRO VENDOR said we would be gettin a Dino/Mirage deluxe in the upcoming "Movie Trilogy" subline
you know its funny (although i agree its probily a a gen sideswipe) how much comotion this brings up and every body hates it!
and i remember that thread too he even said we would get a ha figure too!
They don't. Hasbro surrendered a lot of creative control to Paramount.
CG models are designed, Bay does the Bay thing, and Hasbro get images of the CG models at some point down the line. This is why you have things like the first movie Starscream toy not looking like the on screen model, ROTF Leader Megatron not looking right, and Jetwing Prime's guns being too long compared to the animation model.
I live next door to Brian Goldner and my uncle is a Takara designer, only i can't tell you his name becasue his work is so secret he doesn't even officially work for Takara. They both said no.
My guess is that someone at Brian Goldner's level doesn't get down to the root character availability level except via phone call to his R/D department, so the above sounds dubious. As far as your uncle being a Takara designer...who knows.
^This seems pretty likely...but my question is, why save a character like this for a later release? Makes much less sense to put out another version of a character that doesn't even appear in the 3rd movie, like Jolt for instance, and not have someone like Dino who appears generously throughout the 3rd movie. Ugh..I just need to stop, cuz this is making less and less sense by the hour.
Separate names with a comma.
