Given the chance to get reissued Monster Pretenders or the Dino Force which we American fans never got, which set would you prefer to see? Note: Obviously Hasbro/Takara releasing either group is unlikely to happen any time soon; this is just a what if.

Personally I'd go for the Dino Force. Even assuming the Monstructor was done without GPS I don't really like his color scheme or the individual cons' colors in general; I find Dino King's much more uniform and visually appealing. Besides the combined form, I've always wanted dinosaur opposites to the Dinobots and their shells are just way cooler than a bunch of neon monster-things. And after seeing pictures of the shells, I must say I think they're a lot more detailed and just look cooler.

I've also personally hated the dichotomy of the later G1 where Decepticons go from vehicles to weird shit - Firecons, Terrorcons, Decepticon Pretenders, Jr Headmasters - Too many monster-themed Decepticons for my taste. I think a Dinosaur combiner group is better executed than another monster combiner Abominus... and Piranacon too if you consider walking fish with arms no different than Rippersnapper from the Terrorcons. =P

What would you take- Monstructor or Dino King?

Personally, I'd like a Monstructor for the exact reasons you wouldn't like one: I loved Abominus and Piranacon and Squeezeplay as "weird monsters," and I like Monstructor's crazy 90's color scheme over Dinoking's respectable one. Though I do like their pretender shells equally; dinosaurs with armor and guns is just as cool as, if not not cooler than, weird ass monsters. Also, a re-issued Monstructor might be able to fix the GPS in Slog and Bristleback by molding the plastic in a different color. All a re-issue of Dinoking could fix would be the price :p

Monstructor, solely because he's in US fiction. The shells potentially add another play layer.

Even though I have Monstructor, I still would prefer him, as he never got a box set. Also, monstructor is creative, Dinoing is not.

Not to argue, but how do you mean Monstructor is creative?

Dino Force! Alone for the rarity factor.
We need more reissue love for the Japanese exclusives!

Monstructor. I have Dinoking. Over the years, the more garish Transformers have started to become more appealing to me. Euro G1.5 over Machine Wars and even Monstructor over Dinoking.
Having said that, the dino shells are much cooler than Monstructors rubber whatevers.

Monstructor. I hate the dinosaur idea, not that I'm a fan of Pretender Monsters, either.

Dinoking. there needs to be an "opposite" team for the Dinobots, better color scheme.

Monstructor, both because the characters have actually appeared in several US comics and because the vintage toys have at least two major defects (shell rot, GPS) that could be fixed for a reissue.

If I got either, the shells would be in a landfill. That being said, I actually owned a Slog back in the day, the last toy I think my Grandma got me before she died. For practical reasons, I have no preference and would love to see both. For sentimental reasons, I want to see Monstructor first.

Monstructor. The Pretender Monsters' shells are ADORABLE.
