Well, Autocracy finishes tomorrow. I'm sure we're going to see another digital series. But I'm curious as to what everyone felt about Autocracy, the digital exclusivity and what they would like to see improved upon or added to for the next digital series.

    Thoughts?

I thought Autocracy started brilliantly, then fell apart around the last three issues.

It remains to be seen if the final issue can pull off an epic finish, and I'm surprisingly hopeful.

And though it's something that fans of IDW Transformers have had to deal with consistently, Autocracy plays fast and loose with continuity yet again.

The use of the digital format is great though, and as I wanted to read it, encouraged me to go digital for MTMTE and RID. Wanting it pushed me to make the jump.

Improvements? I'm quite happy with the eight page storytelling, you get a lot of bang for your buck as every panel has to count, but I'd like to see it turn down the 'EPIC' a bit.

Autocracy reads at an absolute breakneck pace, which is an advantage of the format it uses. Hindsight might colour this in a different light though, as an awful lot happens in a very short space of time. Things such as Megatrons and Orions brothers in arms routine, Pax's fall and the introduction of Metroplex felt very rushed.

I'd like to see better writing.

It just wasn't in the same league as MtMtE and RiD.

-ZacWilliam, I think digital is a great place for either 1) Spotlight stories 2) playing with other old continuities like BW or RiD or UT.

Mmm, Spotlights. Some 8 page 1 shot Spotlights would be awesome.

How does it cost to publish digital comic? Is it cheaper than publishing paper version? If so, publishing miniseries or spotlights digitally will be good way to save the budget.

jeez Orio you making double threads? =)

my thoughts from a couple months ago:

I would really love to see another digital mini-comic continue in its footsteps.

Endless possibilities for world building, and i would imagine a lot easier to produce from IDW's perspective cause the are only releasing 8 pages a month digitally as opposed to a full printed comic.

So what are some ideas you would like to see explored in this format?

Impactor and Guzzle's exploits post- LSotW

    Thundercracker's exodus from Earth.

    Swerve - the series!

Rung out to dry : Cybertronian's search for meaning (bah, a Victor E Frankl pun sort of)

backstory on Rewind and Chromedome... yes please!

I'd love to see 4-issue Spotlights on characters from the other books. As long as they're written by the core book's writer...
