I have a film I took on a Sony DCR-DVD203 camcorder, and when I put the finalized DVD into my computer, I can't get the individual takes. Does anyone know what I need to retrive takes off of a DVD finalized with this camcorder?

I have a friend that had the same problem (but not with a SONY).
She later said that she needed to install a special softwatre in order to grab the footage to the computer.

I don't know if it'll be the same for you, but my sister in law has a Sony Mini-DVD Camcorder and the only way they can pull the individual takes off the discs after it's finalized is to hook the camera up to their computer via either the firewire or USB ports. Then it's pretty much like a MiniDV camcorder, which means you have to play the video and re-record it on your hard-drive. Which pretty much blows BTW.

I have a MiniDV and that's my biggest complaint. Pure digital, but you still have to play it and re-record to get it from the tape to the hard-drive.
