Well, if you're looking for legally acquired software I believe GIMP may be one of the most powerful and comprehensive. Personally, I find it's interface to be poorly designed. It's still good though. I've heard fairly good things about Paint.NET which has a watered down Photoshop feel to it. The GIMP is awesome. And legal. Give it a try - if you don't like it you uninstall it and you haven't lost anything.

Yeah, well I'll never shell out that kind of money for photoshop. The only thing I plan on using the software for is giving myself a visual aide for kitbashing. Thanks for all the imput guys. I think I'll give GIMP a try.
