What is the diffrence between Dynamic and On-Screen Contrast Ratios?
    I have a Dynamic 100,000 to 1 and a On-Screen 3800 to 1. Whats the diffrence in the 2?

There is no uniform standard for measuring contrast ratio. So mfg list only dynamic CR, some only CR and some state both. Faced with several different models of televisions from various manufacturers, the contrast ratio is one of the most important factors to consider in making your decision. A contrast ratio is defined as the difference between the lightest color and the darkest color the television is capable of producing. For Plasma Television Static Contrast Ratio of 5,000 : 1 or a higher and For LCD Televisions Static Contrast Ratio of 1,000 : 1 or higher , Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 10,000 : 1 or higher

The static contrast ratio, if you can find a manufacturer who actually lists it, is the most important of the two. It is always a smaller number like 2000:1. But the higher that number, the better. It is listing the contrast difference between the lightest light and the darkest dark the screen can possibly produce. Dynamic Contrast lists the gradations between the TV's darkest dark and brightest whites.

A TV can have a 100,000:1 Dynamic ratio can still look muddy if the display can't show deep blacks or bright whites (a problem with many LCD TV's).

So I am supposing Static and my On-Screen 3800 to 1 are one and the same.

Probably, yes. Some companies call it different things. A 3800:1 Static ratio is pretty good. I wrote up an extensive article on this kind of stuff. I can post the link if anyone cares to read it.
