The first one there is Masterpiece Megatron, that has the orange moddified tip to it, and the 2nd one is a Reissue of G1 Megatron, that happens to also have an orage cap modified to the tip of the barrel. Peace out.

don't get either from BBTS. they'll open your figure and attach a (possibly permanent) orange plastic tip to the end of the barrel, which of course includes cutting away parts of the plastic tray to make room for the new, longer barrel. you can get both of them unmodified and cheaper elsewhere.

So there are no differences between the two?

Ummm.....did you read my first post? The first one is the Masterpiece Megatron, aka, a perfect version of the G1 cartoon Megs. The second one is a reissue of the G1 toy. Other than being based on the same character, and both having a modified orange cap, there are no similarities between the two.

hey guys, let's be nice here.

the tf-06 is takara's reissue of the original g1 figure from 25 years ago. it comes with all of it's original accessories, as well as a nifty booklet. the figure is probably 7 inches tall in robot mode, and has basic shoulder articulation, and his legs swivel out at the hips. as a pistol, it's about the size of a small toy gun

the mp-05 is the masterpiece megatron that's due to be released in a few months. noone as far as I know has had their hands on a prototype, but going by pictures and past masterpieces, here's a few things: it's expected to be 10-14 inches tall, have many points of articulation, lots of accessories, and be a little bit bigger than a real gun in alt. mode.

    hope this helps!

Basically, one is a rerelease of the original toy from 1984 with a couple of new parts, but is otherwise the same as the original, and stands about 7 or 8 inches tall.

The MP-5 is a brand new version, nearly a foot tall, who has nothing to do with the original design at all and is a version who is much closer to the Megatron you saw on TV. He is a perfect companion piece to the 20th Anniversary Edition Optimus Prime.

Now if all responses were this accurate and precise, Weirdwolf would lose his job giving away his tailgate t-shirts on the corner for a lousy +1 post count :D

    Thanks again ckhtiger.

EDIT---- I'd also like to know where to get them cheaper and without the orange cap. Is Ebay the only option?

I just hate these petty laws that get in the way of a good Megatron gun design...
We're allowed to see plenty of guns when watching the news...

Not every country is as lenient about these things as South Africa is.

At the moment I'm planning on going with Robotkingdom, with shipping to the US it totals to $84.01 and that's without the orange tip.

We've never even heard of these 'guns' over here in the UK, so when y Megs arrives no orange tip for me!

Just one time before for MP-04 Convoy, it came in 2 weeks and good condition. I definitely reccomend them but I never had to deal with their customer service so I can't tell you much on it.
