Diaclone toys had different color schemes and were "controled" by little humans that were included. That's why alot of G1 toys have little seats on the toys. The weren't sentient robots.

Not much difference besides that I know of....

not much really only in G1 they were given name. backstories and character, the toys are pretty much identical with some recolors and changes to comply with various ttoy regulations ( example: orange cap on the barrel of some G1 Megatrons) hasbro basicly cut a deal with Takara to do a mold swap Hasbro's G1 for Takara's Diaclone line and thus Transformers were born inThe US anyway lol XD whoops for got about the little guys inthe Diaclone toys, and for a real good exampleof the seat look at a G1 Slag its dino mode head has the seat init for the Diaclone mini figs

0ptimus__Prime got it. I tend to think of Diaclone like M.A.S.K only with robots not pop out guns

Other than the obvious differences in bkg story and not being sentient, you guys are missing out on the biggest difference.

Missile launchers of death!!! My diaclone missile launchers shoot missiles across a 20ft room.

The other differences are the factions. Diaclone is a much larger line that has other toys. We tend to focus on only the car robots line.

    Diaclone had
-some characters/ mechs that wheren't used by either Hasbro or Takara when Transformers started (Diattacker, Gats Blocker, Battle Buffolo)
    -the Insecticons where enemy mechs
-Ironhide's/ Ratchet's "face" where the operators chair
-Seekers where just one plane with several different color schemes
-Skids had a different color scheme/ head
    -Optimus had several different rifles

Whoa where are you getting this information? you are close but heavily exaggerating.

There were only two seekers. Starscream grey color scheme and Thundercracker blue scheme. decals were different. Like they said F-15

Optimus only had one type of gun. Also Powered Convoy was an upgraded version of battle convoy (aka Optimus prime)

I have a diaclone driver and its pure awesome! Currently he sits in my Ironhide while in robot mode. Some of the diaclone toys also had multiple color schemes for the same molds. Like Trailbreaker, Sunstreaker and Skids. That line of thinking (re-colors) was definitely carried over into the Transformers line by Hasbro. I love re-colors!!! Skids also came with a little scooter! How cool is that? (very)

    Hellboy0021,

If you decide to nab yourself a vintage Diaclone/Microman or 2, You'd better have some deep pockets... :lol  Having a look-see through RobotKingdom's stock/past-stock should get that interest stirring quite a bit...  (as well as ballpark prices  )

Whenever I say G1 rules... it also means Diaclone/Microman rules.

I dunno. I think Diaclone>G1 if you compare the molds from Diaclone Car Robots to strictly the same ones used in G1.

Well, I like "the Transformers" as a brand. I also like some of the G1 color schemes better..the Constructicons, and Insecticons especially.
