hi everybody, just want to share the latest die cast transformer Im working on. I know that this cannot compete with the amazing devastators that some of you do (honorific mention to frenzy rumble, your dev is my laptop wallpaper:thumb ) but I am very enthusiastic about it (considering that Ill have to build my own crane cause I cannot find one anywere), it will have a lot of articulations , led eyes (hopefully) and will have all the individual vehicle mode (not robot mode this time) LMKWYT

This looks really promising already. This may be a silly question but what are you using to cut all the metal? I've cut small bits of metal before with my dremel and it's a PITA.

Nice project. Looking good so far. Cant wait to see you finish it.
Absolutely love having diecast parts in transformers.

Btw, do you use diamond cutting discs or the brown standard cutting discs that comes with the dremel?

I found that both types can cut through die cast parts well but the brown discs can explode when they're too hot or when the die cast grips on and bites!!

It depends. I use 3 types of brown disks and 2 types of reinforced black disks, (here a single diamond disk costs about 40 US)

this is ambitious. I wouldn't cut anything but thin plastic or wood with the brown discs, they are VERY dangerous. Stick with the black fiberglass reinforced or diamond edge metal discs. I find the black fiberglass disc to work best with metal.

I use the brown discs for all my plastic cutting, i've had them explode on many occasions, just wear rye protection and maybe a long sleeve shirt... After all I'm fine.
