Three of my favourite characters survived and one died.
The three were Jazz, Grimlock and Hot Rod/Rodimus and the other who died was Starscream.

I don't know... Starscream dead made me more sad than Optimus' death.

OK, there are more of the new characters I like that survived the movie too. Like Arcee, Springer, Magnus, Galvatron, The Sweeps and Scourge, Cyclonus. Most of my favourite characters are season 3 characters. I liked Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Hound and Prowl too, but from the original Autobots the only big favourites besides Optimus were Jazz and Grimlock.

Oh and Soundwave survived. Hm the longer I think about it, I think that really a lot Transformers I liked survived the Movie actually. So I stop here  

 

Prowl, Optimus, Megatron and Skywarp bit the dust. Only Grimlock survived the culling.

 

I lost many favorites in the movie. I also gained a new one, and he has been my fave ever since. Kup will always be the best Transformer in my humble opinion. I wish Starscream at least got to be the leader of the Decepticons for a little bit before biting it though.

 

Wheeljack. So no. But technically it was meant to be Smokescreen, but whatever. I definately liked Galvatron in the film, but was awful in S3. Kup and Cyclonus were also cool.

 

Nope (Wheeljack). :/ As for new characters... Cyclonus was pretty cool I guess?

 

Well Wheeljack appeared in victory so i pretend that he got better.

Consider the crap he's done with his inventions, he's a tough cookie he lived.

Shame about Prowl and Shockwave's supposed deaths.

I'm not sure if Shockwave was supposed to die or not originally but I think he survived but I'm more glad Soundwave lived.

 

Wheeljack lived on in Victory, so I like to think he got better.

 

My favorites from seasons 1-2 of G1 are Ironhide and Jazz. One survived, one didn't.

 

it was too bad that ironhide died, but i grew a new love for kup, although he could never replace ironhide in my eyes

 

I love Jazz, so I was beyond happy to see him at the end! Although I cried like a baby over Optimus and Ironhide! I was pretty pleased the Dinobots lived, but I sorta expected it.

I hated all the new characters but Springer...........there was just something about him.
