Well, I like many have fallen into the category of "Wii-less" and so it fell upon the Gamecube to get my Zelda fix - which took a month to arrive but is a welcome arrival nonetheless despite the fact that most of the "wave of enthusiasm" from the Wii release has already hit. Which effectively overshadowed the release of this edition. Thus there has apparently been a lot of doomsaying about the supply of Zelda 2 GCN. Question is, did you get it and where? :)

For my part, I got mine first stop at a Toys R Us.

From my initial five minute run, I've noticed the entire first town is a mirror image of the one on the Wii, literally. Whatever route or edifice was on the right is on the left and vice versa. Woah! Vertigo. So, part two of my question to anyone who is deeper into it than me. Is this the norm, or an exception? Anything else different, if you've played both versions? Reactions, criticisms, etc?

It is the norm.. The entire game was mirrored on the wii so that the sword would be right handed.

Holy crow! That's...going to take some getting used to given my hands on with the Wii version. And it makes sense? although I never really though about it, considering I didn't get my sword yet. But mirroring the whole darn game? Whoa. o_O  Crazy stuff.

Oh, it's out. Not equally, but I know at least a few EB/Gamestop/Funcos and TRUs that got them in from my jolly-riding today.

It was easier to just mirror the graphics in one fell swoop than to mirror link alone I suppose.

wait, I thought they just mirrored the human link... if you look at where his earing is in wolf form, it's on the opposite ear from his human form.

No, the entire game was mirrored without a doubt. I purchased a copy for myself and my little brother to put away for Christmas. Circuit City has it for 38 right now, but his copy might have to go back assuming he get's a Wii on Sunday.

I read in a magazine, Gamepro, I think it was, that Link has always been left handed in the games. He's right handed in the Wii version, because most people use they're right hand for the Wiimote. Or something like that.

yep. entire game mirrored. if you look at the maps in any of the players guides, you'll see the locations are completely flipped over.

Cool, didn't know it was totally mirrored. Might need to pick this up. How does it compare to the Wii version as far as frame-rate and graphics-wise?

From what I've heard the two (aside from being mirrored) are visually identical on a standard TV. The Wii version has the higher resolution option for TVs that support it.

Does anyone know where I can get Cube Zelda in Europe (and preferably the Netherlands)? I don't want to be Zelda-less Christmas. :(

It's out in the UK this weekend apparently, so it may be the same for Europe. I'm not sure about availability though, as most places have stopped selling GameCube stuff here.

For those that have it for both systems, which one is better?
