doesn't help that there has never been a retail release of Alpha Trion in any form, the only figures of him are exclusives, botcon and etc.

yes. and as I said only made in low numbers , not sure just how many. Maybe Alpha Trion will get a mold in Generations/reveal the shield.

    No

I "THINK" the previous Botcon club/convention owners had plans to. then the figure got cancelled when fun pub/TCC become the new owners.

Yuck, thank goodness that thing didn't get made. It looks really bad, especially robot mode (which seems to just be the lion mode standing up)

No. As revealed in the unmade Devcon toy blurb on the TFwiki, Botcon 2001 had put a vote to the fans as to what toy to make for the next year's exclusive, the choices being Cyclonus, Devcon, that Alpha Trion, and maybe others (I just can't find out the others). Cyclonus won, and so was a BM Jetstorm repaint for Botcon 2002.

Well the funny thing here is even though that yes, this is the only Alpha Trion figure ever propsed as a lion, that in the comic he was shown being given this alt mode by Primus. However the robot mode given was a variation of Lio Convoy. It used a vaguley Snarl looking lion but had the lion parts (head and mane) situated on his right shoulder like Lio Convoy. I believe this was explained as being an easy way for OTFCC to make the figure no matter which mold they used, Snarl or Lio.

It would have been a way better and much more badass looking figure if they could have secured the rights to use the Lio Convoy mold. I believe there should be pics of that scene from the comic on tfwiki.net

    This was MUCH BETTER! :D

That BM Snarl mold doesn't look right, even when he's slapped in Alpha Trion's colors. A head remold would have work, maybe...

Anything with a cyber planet key should be melted down and used to make something better.
