Did Rescue Heroes TFs do badly as a toy line?

I have not been following them since they came out, but I noticed all were on clearance at my local Meijer today. Figures like Optimus and Heatwave were half off, and the big fire house playset was marked down to $15!

Isn't Meijer always clearancing everything? There are none near me, but it seems like people are always posting about crazy sales on relatively recent items...

I don't think they sold poorly. It just seems that Hasbro is doing some restructureing for the 2012 rescue bots lineup, and retailers need to clearance the old product.

Their even expanding to kids backpacks, lunchboxes and T-shirts with Rescue bots on them now that the show is out.

The bases especially are getting a new lineup. With a chase police station featureing a little criminal figure to catch and a spring loaded Optimus Prime mobile headquarters with a show style cody figure.
that cody is a nice sign that more show modeled human partners may be coming.

I would like it if they had decent articulation instead of being oversized Cyberverse toys.

You're probably not the demographic. they are made for LITTLE LITTLE KIDS, who can't be bothered trying to transform something beyond their motor skills, and don't care at ALL about articulation.

Yeah if anything, it annoys them because the toys can't stand up as easy.

For what it's worth, the actual transforming Rescue Bots seem to move pretty quickly around here. It's also one of the few lines where I've overheard other shoppers (adults and kids) specifically asking about where the Rescue Bots are or how (fill in kid's name here) wants some for their birthday.

They sold out pretty well here, which is a feat in itself given how fucking overpriced they are in Malaysia.

I had been wondering how this line was doing overall. The figures sell pretty well at the TRU I work at. Both the robots and, to a slightly lesser extent, the human companions. The playsets however do not sell as much. It doesn't help that my store got an extra big shipment of the Prime Fire Stations before XMas and still have a few dozen of them on the shelves taking up too much space.

I have most of the figures for my kids, just haven't seen Boulder yet. I also did not get Bumblebee's Garage. I'll have to get the Mobiile HQ and Police Station when they are out. I wonder if there will be any more Bots though.

Uh? The toys stand perfectly well. My 1.5 year old son can do it.

Those who found Boulder are sitting pretty right now. He is going for over $100 on E-Bay currently (past auctions)

Kids will just fly them around and make laser noises when the play with them. There is non need for articulation.

I haven't seen Rescue Bots in a while around me...probably haven't been looking, I admit. But I know I did see them and now it seems as if they've all vanished. I'll have to look again.

Since the show debuted and the toys hit the shelves, i have only seen 2 figures on the shelves around here. so they are either doing really well or stores aren't stocking them.

    pretty sure it's the former.

i was going to impulse buy Blades, but hey, if he ain't in sight, he ain't bought on sight.

I still think it's a bit unfair to judge the result of the line or whether or not it was successful while the line is still going. Considering the line has been revealed to have more product and merchandising coming at Toy Fair, and the fact the show itself is getting a second season, it looks like Hasbro is supporting the line for at least a year or two. Unless Hasbro outright cancels or says something to the contrary, given the stuff that's happened so far with the line, it's safe to assume that it's at least doing "Okay".

What's more insane is that people are actually paying it.
